China was suspected of a latent form of colonialism through debt and trade dependency plus immigration.
They do not appear to be as free with their loans but also they are getting less dependant on African resources as their belt and road initiative is opening up more and more countries for them to exploit.
Whether that is the reason for the lack of information re Chinese interest in Kibo and EDL I don't know.
There has been no mention of 2nd BFS for EDL, I know Magufuli stopped the project but I do wonder if the Chinese have withdrawn completely.

Mrs Mara Warwick, country director for the world Bank, has met with President Samia this week and assured her that the $4.9b plus the $290m loan newly approved for Zanzibar is there for infrastructure completion in Zanzibar and mega projects in Tanzania.
Previous donors had withheld funds due to Magufuli's
Human rights violations.
It would seem that president Samia is successfully changing the running of the country.
I hope the spread of C19 variants does not stop her efforts to implement a vaccination program.

Those two trades, approaching 5% have had zero effect on the share price, under normal circumstances whether they be buy or sell would have sent the SP either north or south but there seems to be no effect! It begs the question why?

saying that they had a substantial order book, or words to that effect, it will be interesting to see if that is still the case when the results are published.

SoS, you are entitled to your opinion, coal not important to a coal miner, which at this moment in time is it's only asset and only means of income. Disposing of it is another matter. Somebody once said that you were on a different planet they couldn't have been more accurate. 173m tonnes not important, in simple terms it's the daftest thing you have said.

It is fine for the heavy polluters to advise countries like Africa to go green whist they continue with their polluting methods.
Africa is a long way from the polluting levels of China, USA etc and they need the electrification by whatever method.
As far as Africa is concerned coal will not be dead for many years to come and yes they also need to pursue renewables.
Kibo (LC) is not giving up on coal projects he has said that he intends to continue his interest in the CFPPs after he has sold them off which he will no doubt succeed in doing.
We have 2 weeks of this month left hopefully results plus updates which we are all waiting for to at least settle some of the arguments that persist on this board due to speculation of the future of EDL.

Aerial, you are most likely on the right track but what is obvious he doesn't think coal is dead but is focussing on other areas.
He also seems to think that bigger players would be interested in the CFPPs.
