Should and I do say should, settle the direction on which EDL will be going.
It would seem that to supply the new interconnectors the TZ gov. have little choice but a CFPP.
EDL is uniquely placed to supply the necessary fuel.
This as far as I'm aware has been EDL's target.
The production of coal to feed a CFPP plus.other customers will need to be accelerated/expanded over the next 3/4 yrs.
We are about 4/5 months before the wet season which has, in the past been a major disruption to mining.
It would seem obvious to me that the aim now is to get ILTL onsite and established before then, to that end 3000 tpm will soon be established. That is why for me this is a strong buy but what do I know?

I don't know how much longer the rise in coal will be maintained but EDL is better placed today than it was 4yrs ago.
9 trading days left before the AGM, can anyone really see the lack of interest continuing to the end of this month. We could still have a similar trading week this coming week without news but the final week of this month will see it change and anytime between now and then if news is released.

As far as I'm aware an unsolicited proposal is one that hasn't been requested.
A solicited proposal is one that has been requested, that's the simple explanation.
EDL have been invited/ requested to submit a proposal
So what is it solicited or unsolicited.

Why would anybody build a power station any great distance from its fuel source?
When the Sumbawanga substation and interconnector were planned the location of the power plant must have been decided then by the required supply of fuel, If Magufuli hadn't put a spanner in the works we would have been well on our way now.

worldometers, puts TZ fairly low on coal consumption unsurprisingly the addition of EDL's CPP will be small re pollution.

Peak Resources are waiting to complete the paper work to start mining the untapped REM resource at Ngualla. They will be shipping the raw material to Teesside for processing at Wilton, where a renewable energy plant has been given the go ahead.
Ngualla is not that far from EDL site, is that what NvS is hoping to buy into. A coincidence possibly when a new area for REMs is being opened up for what appears to be a rich resource that is only going to increase in value.

I have a friend from LAOS (now living in the US) who spent her time as a child, going into the forest foraging for insects and wood to cook them for food. It's so easy to criticise these people for burning wood and charcoal, which in Africa is a cause of the pollution, when sat in a comfortable chair in a modern house. Coal in countries like Africa will have great benefits for the ecological system by saving one or two trees and the general health of it's occupants.

I'm surprised that N1 hasn't mentioned the closure of the relatively new coal fired plant in Germany to be replaced by a wind farm!
The reality is countries intent on development of their economies need a reliable, constant, supply of power.in sufficient quantity to allow these countries to develop,
to that end coal is the answer until there's sufficient new technology to replace it.
The building of of these new windmills etc are not without their own pollution problems in disposing of waste in manufacturing etc.
Coal is a long way from being dead.
We have been urging China and other countries to stop human abuse, hasn't that had some effect!!

Yes it is! that's why the USA and Europe have increased their demand for the black stuff, because of the increased demand for electricity and the only way they can meet the demand is by burning coal.

Aerial re power production, personally I couldn't give a hoot who builds, owns or sells the power generated, it makes sense to have the power plant on site whatever is meant by that, electricity is easier to transport than coal.
Why we haven't been informed, who knows?
The one thing I am pretty sure of is EDL will be the coal supplier.

Most accept that covid has cost EDL 12 months production and development .
We are now where we should have been last year, wash plant up and running along with coal production.
Samples being delivered to prospective customers from whom contracts are expected (there's that word again)
ILTL are still in the line up to take over as coal production increases.

Aerial, the language would suggest that it has already been decided re construction of the CPP.
I did mention in a earlier post that there was no mention of the Chinese involvement.
Mozambique seems to have good support from the Chinese.
Until we get some solid information we can only guess at what is going on but it would seem that everything is pointing to the construction of a CFPP for the reliable base load for the transmission lines.

Perhaps like Mozambique they're accepting reality that renewables etc will not power the country up at the necessary speed and coal is a necessary evil for sometime to come.
Whatever the reason it would seem that the CFPP is still
necessary for powering those transmission lines.
If that is true then a great deal more effort and investment is needed to produce the quantity of coal to not only to supply a CFPP on site but the current and expected customers.
What seems now like a lifetime ago EDL's aim was to become a major supplier of coal to E African industries and other CFPP's but that was sometime ago, the fiasco of their first attempts at producing commercial coal certainly gave the naysayers some ammunition.
As long as C19 doesn't interfere with the operations and
demand we are about to prove those naysayers wrong.

St Legers day might be early?

We are now 1 week into the 4 trading weeks of July.
The analysts will have read the annual report and as yet no concerted effort to affect the SP, plus or minus.
I don't think I can remember such a quiet trading period.
It would seem that whatever news on contracts/shipments comes through the change in the SP could be substantial. I doubt we will hear about acquisition efforts for some time but who knows?
What stands out to me is the results haven't caused a sell off so everything to look forward to.
Nothing else to say untill we have some news.
