Yeh Squirty re-posted the link to that earlier. That was why I quoted 4-7 US based RE companies and was able to find sources for this on the internet (with and without AI), but wasn't able to find the "by 30th August" bit, other than in Myles' post.

Thanks STN, yeh I remember that article and I think it provides a clue to JT's attendance. JT, in his investor Q&A not long after this meeting, mentioned that they had become aware of different / additional government funding sources. Imo, there's a decent chance he was told about them at the meeting.

STN, I'm definitely not saying that Hypromag USA were not at the meeting. If you look at my posts following the talks I said 10 RE companies were mentioned as being there, but only 8 were named (all privately held). I guessed that the two not named were USA Rare Earth and Hypromag USA. I'm questioning the 30th August deadline, which I cannot find any source for at all (other than Myles on X), with or without AI.

I'm afraid the only source that I can find for the 30th August deadline is Myles' X post. AI tells me that that the US DoD is in talks with 4-7 US RE companies about the potential to set a price floor, but says that there has been no specific deadline given. Hypromag USA aren't included in the list of privately held companies mentioned at the Peter Navarro meeting as we know, neither are USA Rare Earth, with both companies being publicly rather than privately held.

Reminds me of the EU Strategic Projects announcements (separate dates for EU and ROW projects). The companies had no clue and there was a great arbitrage opportunity due to the delay in them releasing RNS's. I missed out for the EU round (other than buying more Mkango) but made a decent chunk on Tungsten West and GreenRoc when they did the ROW announcement.

I have no doubt that the US DoD is looking to do more deals, and as quick as possible. But I'm not sure where the end of August timeframe came from / don't think it was from an official communique. Sorry, can't remember the detail in Myles' original post on X (I'm not on X so can't check).

As I’ve said previously, I’m not expecting a Hypomag/Mkango - US DoD deal to be announced in the near future. Any such announcement would be a brilliant surprise as far as I’m concerned, and depending on its nature, imo could easily at least double the current share price for starters.

Possibly, though I haven’t seen anything official on this deadline, it’s mainly supposition from what I can tell. Another one trade just now, had one yesterday too. Probably someone messing around.

Could be. Could also be that Friday flyday has become so ingrained here that the MM’s just decided to go with the flow for once… : )

MM’s opened her up this morning, any thoughts on why? Mkango did well in Canada and Cotec had a good day following the investor conference, but didn’t expect either of those to factor into MM’s opening positions.

If you are short on time I reckon the last 5 minutes, where Braam answers questions are worth focussing on. The rest is petty much all stuff we already knew.

Watching back he says (summarised version): we are in discussions with EXIM and commercial banks, and expect to use project finance (debt) for at least two thirds of the funding requirement. The rest will either be government grants, offtake financing or if there is any funding requirement left, equity financing at the project level.

Braam Joncker (CFO) is a little more formal and serious than JT from my experience of watching the both of them. He didn't give me the impression that they were on the cusp of signing a deal with the DoD, but equally I wouldn't expect him to, certainly not on a virtual investment conference organised from New York (reckon any deal would get pulled very quickly if so). You can watch a replay of the video to judge for yourself. The 50%-100% grant funding application was the most interesting / newest info I heard, but also good to know more about the strength of Cotec's Board.

Their market cap isn't very serious at the minute, but their Board certainly suggests that it is going to be.

Mentioned a whole host of upcoming milestones on Hypromag USA but I didn't get a chance to note them down.

Obviously mentions the EXIM talks. Also talking to commercial lenders about project finance, talking to offtakers about offtake financing and mentioned third party equity at the project level if needed (didn't seem to think it would be). They don't seem to be expecting to use any of their own money.

Have applied for grant funding for between 50-100% from the US government...

They currently have $13.5m in cash and a convertible loan note facility available of $6.5m, so plenty of cash to take forward Hypromag USA.

Didn't realise Cotec had the ex-CEO of Rio Tinto on their Board of Directors.
