Some whopping trades just reported, including one for 1.05m. Clearly all buys / worked buys given the price action yesterday and today.

Sh*t yeh, and on decent volume for them. It must be the conference effect.

Well after a 12%+ rise yesterday, I'll take a 9% rise today. Great base to move up from as news starts coming thick and fast over the next 10 weeks.

There's been 60k on the bid on L2 frequently today, sitting above the level the MM's are at. It's currently bidding 42.5p, causing an auction. Strong demand.

Moved up to 41p bid / 43p ask. Already 10% up by lunchtime. Looking good to beat the % increase from yesterday.

One MM left on the ask at 42p vs six on the bid at 40p. Next leg up incoming.

Yep, hot knife through butter vibes at the moment.

Yep, plenty of big buying going on in the background based on L2 action.

Looks like Mutharika has won the election resoundingly to regain the presidency and that current president Chakwera has conceded and power will transfer without issues. Mutharika was pro mining in his previous term so should be no problems for Songwe, particularly if the transfer of power is peaceful, which it looks like it will be. Think Mkango have a good relationship with his party too based on previous experience.

Haha, well we’ve got to have something keeping the spirits up with all the general doom and gloom around this country and right now that is Mkango for me! How about “Mkango is the medicine that will cure all your ills”…?

Couldn’t not comment today with a near 14% rise and L2 going nuts into close. Lots of 50k and 100k delayed reported buys continuing to roll in. I was definitely posting too much though, too glued to the board. Perhaps I’ll reserve my 10 post days to those where the SP goes up 10%+, say a post per %!

We had a five minute extension of the end of day auction through to 4.40pm, and then a cheeky UT at 38.2p to close it, which means we should open up 0.55p tomorrow. Based on the momentum we just saw, we'll be closing a lot higher tomorrow!

Looks like the end of day auction is still going. Mad scramble there at the end, L2 was lighting up like a Christmas tree.

Amazingly strong into close, the MM's are all over the place. Fantastic momentum and bodes well for tomorrow and Friday.

Not sure about this rise being due to leaked news. More likely we're just recovering from the downward pressure that was brought about by the placing. Also, Will and Alex no doubt did a great job drumming up interest over at the conference. This moves quickly when there's no placing or warrant overhang as we've seen in the last few months. The future is bright, the future is Mkango.

No problem FinePrint. When you've been around on AIM as long as I have (wouldn't necessarily wish that on anyone!), particularly on one share, then you tend to get a feel for how the placings / selling of placing shares works.

In retrospect it seems like the placing shares were being forward sold in a way that drip fed them into the market so that the price didn't completely collapse and remained above 30p (the placing price). I'll have to do the sums on how many of those 50k sells went through in the couple of weeks before the placing announcement, but I am betting it's a decent portion of the placing. Imo, if there was still an overhang we wouldn't have cleared 34p resistance and would likely still be sitting at 32p and still seeing lots of large sells every day.

No need to apologise, my fault. Was on my phone and not paying attention to the thread title, thinking you were continuing the conversation around the SP action today on Mkango. Given we had all that carp from a certain poster about a gap at [17p] the other week I was a little hasty/over defensive with my response without checking the context, for which I apologise.
