It's surely a bit late for that, and we could make our own position in Sweden even more difficult, you know, it we start shouting the odds now, even as part of a collective. We could then see potential further delays with permitting. It did not bother these Ministers one bit that our application was not dealt with in a timely manner. Even with the Greens out of the coalition, K-P still farted about for months before eventually badly delivering a favourable decision for us. Will a collective moan from a number of mining CEOs make any difference, while Sweden has LKAB to gobble up any of the country's own resources? The Swedes have displayed that everything is based on politics, not morals or good practice. In my view, and apologies for any typos.

Interesting post, but stand together how exactly? Considering that, in our case, the Swedish Government has never done anything for us in a timely manner.

sarup, I understand your concerns, but feel it's the opposite. With a mining concession and in this climate of green change in Sweden, Kurt will now be able to make more decisions at a different level. Gaining the concession is the key to improved negotiations and planning. Methinks anyway Sarup. And that concession should also support our other projects in any bargaining, as it is a notable achievement.

Hi Rick. The Gordian Knot will be sliced in two by a robust environmental application. With much of the groundwork already done, it should not matter what the environmentalists now throw at us. We still have rules and criteria for the next stage, and should not be at the mercy of anyone. Particularly those who don't accept the rules or criteria. The question remains as to how long the environmental stage will take, but we should know more before long. The Swedish investors who have sold have been spooked, then it's a herd mentality departure. Up to Budgie to bring them back now, via better news. Only my thoughts, but gaining the concession cannot stand for nothing, surely? There ya go!

Yes, those haven't helped and at least you are expressing your thoughts as to why. I won't add anything further Sooz, only that we merit the concession and the Kal ANI was in place first, without any real bother. Only later, when it looked like there'd be a serious chance that Kal may be developed to mining stage did we get the bother, ooh, and the competing ANI suddenly popped up. Even this did not prevent us being awarded the concession though, criteria satisfied and then some. So I look at it that way. Probably wrong again knowing me. Lol.

Good agenda, a few MPs there and I personally feel Kurt has the perfect slot, right before his cuppa and a chance to mingle.

maddog, your last post has just shown up on my screen now. You may be right. How haphazard and random will future permit processes be? For us anyway. But looking at it positively, the Environmental Court, for example, will surely have timescales in place for dealing with each case.

maddog/Wots. Sounds good, but since we've waited almost nine years for a concession our shares in issue have increased roughly five-fold. We really can't be certain, because of the chance of further overlong and unwarranted delays by the Swedish Authorities just how long getting a mine active will take. Whether we'll have a JV partner with clout, or what our dilution will be by then. Or indeed ore prices. I guess it's easier to calculate the value as it stands, current shares in issue, assuming maybe that it will be sold. Difficult to estimate really though, because there is KS to include. In its current state. That's why I don't know the likely value, too many unknowns for me. We should have been in production three to four years ago, and I'm not happy that the Government has caused so much damage to our business with its handling of our concession application. They should not be allowed to get away with it. My opinion only.

I really don't know. We have high grade ore in what appears to be the start of a metals bull market, but we have the flipside of the lack of knowing how long it will take to obtain permits in Sweden. Be super if we knew that the environmental permit would take only a short time, months not years, considering the work we did on the concession, EIA, HIA. Trying to do business in Sweden in our sector has been unnecessarily drawn out and wholly problematic, but maybe that's because we are a tiny company only not a major miner. Possibly. Unless LKAB takes this on, how much it may be worth would include the risk of dealing with Swedish bureaucracy, which has certainly prevented our progress for a good eight years plus. I mean real progress, because we should have commenced mining at Kal several years ago, built and producing. So, how attractive is it to those outside of Sweden? I'm not being negative, I am just not sure. It's worth what someone will pay for it Maddog. What do you think it's worth, as it stands?

Emerald, the market does not know, and neither do we yet, how long the stage with the Environmental Court re that permit will take, nor when BEM will apply, what needs to be undertaken by us first. We need a structured plan, specifics. We should know more before too long, is my hope. You never know, Kurt may bring us news from Finland and/or Kosovo that will boost the sp. Those projects not yet appearing to be priced in, so Kurt must find a way somehow to perhaps better raise their profile via news. Why not get our JV partner with the Finnish project to help with raising its profile. Bring more investors in from India, for example. The point being Emerald, lots can be done, we just need to know more of what, when and why. Some of us are less than pleased with the progress made over a decade, but we have the concession now, and it must open doors to better times ahead for us, depending also on how long we each personally are willing and/or able to stick with it. That's the one thing we do have control over. I wish you well Emerald.

Hi Aug. Good post. We have unfortunately suffered as a result of Government failings with its own application process. It doesn't appear that K-P has apologised on behalf of the coalition for our almost nine year wait for the concession decision. The conditions attached and comments made by K-P do seem one-sided, describing the numerous obstacles and no guarantee of a mine has not helped and need not have been mentioned, in my view. Seems like a very reluctant approval, albeit we had satisfied the criteria, so he gave his decision. Piling on the woe though along with his 'yes'. I am surprised by Kurt's timid response to the way in which the decision was handled by K-P, the time of the decision and content, which, to me anyway, does not seem fair to us, comments within not neutral. So, deflating our balloon. I'm not sure the Government will tread carefully now, when it has always treated us poorly. We shall see Aug. The Government has not been held to account by BEM for its failings throughout the application process, including with the decision itself. We are left hoping and trusting that Kurt is getting down to real business in terms of Kal, which at present only feels like a side project, even though it shouldn't and surely isn't. Aug, I wish I had the answers for us, but I'm so tired of this now. Best wishes to you and to all BEMers.

Tak, thank you for your thoughts regarding the sp drop and progress here. You are correct in saying that my thoughts about the sp are fanciful, but my post to Aug was not to be taken too seriously hence the "Lol" at the end of it. I am completely frustrated by events here and have said I shall review my position here in October. In the meantime we may have surprising news which will enhance the sp. As for nothing happening until at least December, no, that is not the case. By the end of the year was only in reference to a scoping study for Kal. We don't actually know when that will be. Tak, you know my thoughts on news, if you've seen my recent posts. I'll continue to hold now and see if anything improves. Kurt has said he can do better, he's a top guy, so I'm sticking with that in mind as well. Best regards.
