I’ve no idea why people talk as if there is only one fund buyer, when there are thousands of funds that don’t yet have a stake in Scancell. For many of these funds, they would EACH need a stake of millions of shares for a new holding to be meaningful……

The investment case is finally becoming clear to many people at the same time, not merely to one or two.

The interesting thing about this run of professional buying is that it is being conducted at a very steady pace, simply hoovering up what the market is willing to make available most days but apparently with a pretty clear objective of acquiring a certain number of shares per day or week.

Obviously there are plenty of profit-takers at current levels - at least sufficient to drive traded volumes of 1-2 mn shares per day - and I suppose that will continue as the price creeps slowly higher.

I suspect the share price will be 23-24p by end of the month and that someone will have a 15-20mn share stake.

….so what if BOTH trials are producing durable responses? We know that some patients on SCIB1 have had a complete response. And it seems the same is true of Modi-1. So if durable great results are being obtained then……?

My feeling is that some sort of commentary on the trials is justified at this point, even if the hard, scientific data is still some weeks away. Otherwise we have a bit of a false market, in which speculation, guesswork and perhaps the odd bit of firsthand knowledge fills the information gap.

I look at it like this….. people become accustomed to the status quo. Months and years of the market paying no attention to Scancell have encouraged people to think they can just carry on trading it within a range (and indeed, so far, many have done so). But in my view, these traders are being prised out of their shareholdings - and they won’t get back in again.

I think we’ll be seeing step-changes in the share price very soon indeed (so mind your eye, James, if you are reading this 😎).

Correct on every level. The herd are irrelevant.

If fact if this remains a stock that only the wise buy …..and the herd ignore…..I’d think that a decent outcome. Why should “the herd” profit from just jumping on a bandwagon they haven’t bothered to research……?

Hardly huge…….I own about double that number. But material.

Good point. He should be pretty tuned in on cancer - but, like all Labour politicians, not necessarily tuned in on spending other peoples’ money wisely. Some value-for-money based lobbying by Scancell’s PR specialists would be time well spent.

The fact that 16p traded….which it did early on sizes of 1,000 shares and 55 shares…..isn’t relevant. The claim was that it was/is no longer available …..and that was transparent rubbish. The fact that someone tried to make an issue of it reminds me of the adverse comments made about that individual by someone on the other board. So I am applying an appropriate discount factor to all from that source in future…..

As someone who spend 20 years in the City, “gone” indicates a price no longer available - which has plainly been untrue in the first 2+ hours of trading. 🙄
