Up to 14 days from receipt of the solid tissue sample at their lab. Prior to this the person must have requested the test via their physician and a sample of the tumour obtained (via a minor operation?). Clearly this would be at least another few week's minimum. I guess they are looking at a minimum of 4 weeks from the initial request by the patient and possibly months more. They are paying Angle Plc to develop the means to do the same test on circulating tumour cells caught using Angle Plc's Parsortix machine from a standard blood sample. This sounds like a similar exorcise to developing the Illumina lung cancer test announced a few months back. The results of this I would think could be obtained in less than a week. Also, in some cases it is not possible to get a solid tissue sample so analysing the CTC's might be the only way to get data.

The DNA analysis of CTC's is likely to be used to compliment/check the data obtained from a solid cancer tumour tissue sample IMHO. In time, for cancer that is spreading CTC's might replace solid tumour sample analysis. Also it beggars belief that the likes of Astrazeneca are NOT using the analysis of CTC's to observe how their cancer drug affects the CTC's during a cancer drug trial. To me this is nothing short of criminal negligence. An appauling state of affairs when they SHOULD want to get as much data as possible. What planet are they on?

The cancer has changed. Therefore it is obvious that an up to date analysis is done, is it not? Analysing CTC's from a standard blood sample can be done same day. I find it astonishing more research has not been done on this. Angle Plc's Parsortix can catch the CTC's and now they can be DNA analysed. This Myriad Genetics USA NASDAQ listed company are on the ball. It might become standard procedure to analyse CTC's before going ahead with treatment to check the cancer has not changed in a way that means the treatment won't work. Indeed every few weeks the CTC's could be checked and if necessary a new more effective drug used. IMHO it is criminal the huge PLC's like Astrazeneca have done next to nothing to investigate this. I suppose they wait for a breakthrough, then buy the tech. As a shareholder in AGL if this happens they will be paying BILLIONS to get my shares, if at all.

I believe most of them are using biomarkers found in the original solid tissue tumor analysis to target the cancer. This can be weeks or months old.

So, is the biomarker data out of date due to the cancer changing over time? It is well known it does change to some extent.

So why on Earth are circulating tumour cells (CTC's), which can be caught from a simple blood test at any time not tested instead of the original solid tissue tumour? I would say at minimum both tests should be done to check for changes.

There are a lot of unknowns here. Have they had an approach, is there a USA medical supply Company that is willing to make a payment to secure the rights to future sales in the USA, how are the international sales going, does a Company in say Germany want to secure exclusive rights to sell one or both machines etc... will the Scottish Rollout cash last until xmass etc.... There are so many questions and possibilities here it's amazing. Maybe NICE will recommend rolling out the CYP2C19-ID Kit throughout the NHS?? That alone would save the day as the sp would rocket and they could do a placing @ say 2.5p or something. Loads and loads of possibilities.

If Myriad decide to use Parsortix machines to get the CTC's for the analysis they will want loads of them.

A.I (see below) says they did 125,800 tumour profiling tests in 2024. Parsortix processes 1 tube of blood in about 2 Hrs.

128,000 / 52 weeks in year = 2,462 tests a week.

So how many machines might you need to do 2,462 tests a week?

Assume tests done 7 days a week.

2462Nr. tests / 7day week = 351 tests a day.

351 tests per day / 4 per machine = 88 machines working 7 days x 52 weeks per year.

88 machines x $55,000 per machine = £4,840,000 cash outlay.

Consumables 128,000 x ? = $????? Gawd knows!

So, they already do a comprehensive DNA analysis based of a supplied solid tissue sample! I would suggest they are looking to expand that same analysis to circulating tumour cells (CTC's) caught by Angle's Parsortix machine. It's a perfect fit!

This has got to be getting attention from other Co's that offer the same sort of Solid tissue analysis!!!

AN may yet return to being a much-praised CEO. We will see!!!

Now Angle are collaborating with them providing live intact circulating tumour cells to apply their tech to I don't think it will be long before they come up with another test to help guide the treatment for people who already have cancer. The deal is not exclusive (yet?), so the door is open for many other Companies to also work with Angle and see what they get when they apply their tech.
