I doubt he will get his "marching orders" because it seems this sort of behaviour is normal over there. We are extremely lucky they are in the EU or we would be in even more trouble. Ascent themselves said in an RNS they have no faith in the Slovenian legal system. I remember reading a while back one of their politicians was put in prison over there but was released when a mob went to get him....... Says it all really. I think Ascent can in the first instance try to get the revoking of the IPPC license in 2016 overturned. However if that fails we will have to go through the EU courts.
Legal action is imminent.

As yet no reply from Colin. I suspect AST needs funds to complete any work on the wells. For that they need a placing. For that they need a higher SP. For that they need a positive response from the Slovene government to get confidence

back into the market for AST. Currently confidence is completely blown.

To unwind that: A positive response from the government on permits will inject confidence and the SP will rise. As Alwaysup said we don't need the permits in the short term but we do need the confidence and more buyers willing to invest in AST. Permits = confidence = buyers.

Hello. ARSO not issuing the IPPC license, in view of the fact that it was illegally revoked by a Slovenian court in 2016 is playing into Ascents hands. Either ARSO know something we don't or from a legal point of view they are in deep trouble. They seem so disorganised maybe they don't know the legal implications. Good eh?

Ascent applied for the so called IPPC permit (permission to build a gas processing plant) 4.5 years ago. It should have taken less than one year. We are still chasing the permit as this permission itself is worth money, the same way planning permission for an extension on your house actually increases the value of your house even though it is not built. Ascent about a year ago also applied for permits to re-stimulate the two wells. None of the permits have been received, and none of them have been denied. You wait forever it seems. The good news is the IPPC permit was received in 2016 only to be illegally revoked by a court in Slovenia which did not follow the rules that existed at the time (pretty astonishing). If the permit is not received within days Ascent are going to go legal. I expect the next RNS to confirm the start of legal proceedings.

The board need to give them until close of play Friday 11th January, then instruct the solicitors. This should be to get the IPPC license reinstated after it was illegally revoked in 2016 by one of their courts as stated in one of Ascent's own RNS's at the time. Once it is overturned we can claim damages.
Then we should start the process of laying off, or making redundant the Slovenian office and gas field workers. We only have the one well now so why do we need the same staffing levels? If the one well cannot be run to cover the overheads so we break even then the whole lot should be moth-balled until the damages claim and all employees in Slovenia layed off or made redundant.

The director general of ARSO was sacked because he agreed some ARSO staff could attand a meenting with reps of Ascent and the British chamber of commerce. Apparently meetings like that are banned..... presumably because of the high level of corruption in Slovenia. Could have been excuse to get rid of the man who was about to issue the IPPC license of course....... But hey ho. Good thing is they are NOT well organised and the when one of their courts revoked the IPPC permit in 2016 it was ILLEGAL as per Ascents RNS at the time. This is THE KEY not only to the IPPC license but to DAMAGES. ARSO and Jure Leben, if they are doing their jobs right must know this by now. They MUST issue the IPPC license or they will end up losing a very expensive court case IMHO.

I think Colin intends to have more interviews etc. Fair enough. That can happen too.
This situation is completely out of order and at minimum making other people and Companies aware how dangerous it is too invest in Slovenia is what needs to happen.
I will wait until 11th Jan just because that internal review Jure Leben invoked only finished about a month back. The application as I understand it was given back to ARSO I think 1st week in December, or latest end that week (w/e 7th December).

Hello. I disagree. Until AST run out of money there is still time. Receipt of the IPPC permit would restore some confidence that the Slovenian system is not illegally influenced by NGO's or corrupt. The sp would improve. AST could raise more cash, then use methods other than stimulation to improve the wells performance.
Receipt of ALL the permits would totally restore confidence in the Slovenian Government and indeed Jure Leben. Slovenian jobs would be safe and things would be back on track to at least re-stimulate the two existing wells. Frankly I would be astonished if we receive ALL the permits though. The laughable charade over the last 4.5 YEARS about the IPPC permit tells us a lot! The permits to re-stimulate the wells would likely take many months or years, let's face it.
To me logically ARSO will issue the IPPC license if only to try to stop Ascent from claiming damages through the courts. Unfortunately history tells us that getting the permits to re-stimulate the wells would take many years.
One way or another this is going to end in legal action, of that I am sure.

Sounds like they have built most of the paint shop plant but have NOT got the final license. This is dated 25th December 2018. GORAZD MARINCEK has been objecting I think. They may be about to get a bad shock. LOL!

I wonder if Mr Jure Leben's internal review of ARSO's handling of the IPPC permit application showed up any "undue pressure" from GORAZD MARINCEK? I mean this man appealed the IPPC permit decision (in favour of Ascent and it's Slovenian partners) so many times he was banned from doing it again. He's in the papers and on TV. Are we to believe that he has NOT put undue pressure on the people working at ARSO? Maybe GORAZD has friends in high places or something. He certainly seems to be well known. Maybe Jure is scared of him or something?

Looks like he's the extremist who has caused Ascent most of the trouble.
He's cost Ascent share holders millions.

I see he is prominent in two articles. One where he is objecting about Ascent and it's partners and one where he is objecting about the building if a paint shop by Magna.

This bloke seems to be an extremist that is severely damaging the Slovenian Economy. Clearly they need to reform their system so people like him can't delay a permit for over 3 years on their own!!! What a joke.

It depends on the figures. If well 10 is covering the overheads then fine. If not then moth ball the whole lot and make all the workers redundant which as far as I can see is what ARSO and Jure Leben want. We will then have I believe enough cash to last I should think over 12 months on the minimum wage that Colin draws plus the few others that will be left. Then Colin can do more articles to explain to the Slovenian people what the true story has been with ARSO and Jure Leben. I'm sure the x Slovenian workers will have something to say to Jure, then he can go on tv and complain about that too!! If Colin plays his cards right we will at minimum be a complete pain to Jure Leben and at maximum get most if not all of the damages that we believe we are due.
Years to go if Colin palys the cards right.

Cleraly this Magna Co. are aware of the huge risks with investing in Slovenia. I'd forget Slovenia and go to Hungary if I were them. Even if they get over the current problems what about the future? What about permits for expansion???? DO NOT BOTHER!

My view on the way forward is simple.
1. If no permit by Friday 11th January start it all off.
2. Instruct legal proceedings.
3. Issue all employees in Slovenia with redundancy notices or whatever the process is over there.
4. Inform INA all gas will stop what........ end Feb?
5. Arrange security for after closedown.
6. Arrange further interviews to explain why ARSO and Jure Leben are responsible for the redundancies and closedown of the gas field.
7. Wait while legal case moves through EU courts.

Why would any UK Company want to do trade deals with Slovenia? It's too risky as we have seen. Any one man "NGO" can delay a permit for a gas processing plant AT A GAS FIELD for over 3 years!! It is laughable. Really........ no foreign Comapny is going to invest a single Euro in Slovenia if they check out the risks.
