So let me get this straight. Someone (we don't know who) has posted somewhere that the permits have been signed off etc... LOL! Watch out there's a flying pig!!! Who says this person is talking testicles? Hmm. Well having thought this over for a minute I have come to the conclusion that Lister is a poster who posts rubbish and people who are desperate here want it to be true!!! Cobblers it what I think. I just hope the rumours Jure Leben is in hot water are true. At least that would be positive.

Good luck to them but as fas as I am aware Jure Leben has no intention of letting Ascent have any permits at all as long as he is in office. In fact before he was made the Environment minister the Environment ministry "ARSO" had delayed the permits for years already. Some in ARSO also do not want Ascent to get any permits IMHO. Result............... no chance whatsoever of permits meaning Ascent will run out of money within about 6 months IMHO.

Slovenia warning British Companies about investing in Slovenia? I don't have twitter but maybe someone can ask her the question? What's the betting it's being brushed under the carpet? If she is not then it's pretty obvious she should be. The permit problems in Slovenia are all over their news, so I see no reason why Sophie should not be making the potential TEN Year and more "delays" the very first thing she mentions to potential investyors there!!!! The current Environmental laws in Slovenia make it a definate "NO" for investors IMHO.

Magna's brand new multi-million Euro factory can't open because the same man that has caused/is causing Ascent on-going problems has objected to the new factory. The man (Gorazd Marincek) is a one man economy wrecker using crazy laws voted in by the Slovenian previous governments who must have been simply .............. all I can think of is stupid! To allow a law that enables one single person to delay a peprmit for in excess of 3 years.................. complete madness. AND Jure Leben has not done anything about it after what................... 6 months??

may be delayed by several months!!! So Magna have spent 10's of millions of Euros building a paint shop in Slovenia (with financial help from the Government) and now someone has objected to it at the last possible moment and it now may not (I think will not) open for at least another 7 months. How much money is this going to cost Magna? It may be more that 7 months with appeals!!!! And they want investment from abroad!!! INSANE!

Slovenia asking them if Sophie Honey warns potential investors in Slovenia of the ridiculous Environmental laws regarding obtaing permits. I.E the stadium refurbishment (10 years and counting), Ascent (5 years and counting) and Magna (-may not be able to open their massive expensive factory now an objection has gone in at the last second). She should be warning British Companies/Investors. I want to make double sure she does.

British Companies about investing in Slovenia. I have emailed our Embassy in Slovenia to hopefully ensure that is exactly what she does. It is alarming to read interviews she has given to some papers in Slovenia saying we want to trade. We may want to trade ONCE THEY HAVE REVISED THEIR Environmental laws so Ascent are not waiting 5 years (and counting), their own stadium refurb consent has been waiting TEN YEARS (and counting) and the paint spray Company Magma has spent, what........ 10 million Euros and now may not be able to open their fasctory because someone has now objected!!! The situation with their environmental laws is a total disgrace, has cost investors hundreds of millions of Euros and has severely damaged their own economy. People need to be warned off this investment black hole.

Sophie Honey and our Embassies should be warning that investing in Slovenia is extremely risky, not least because of their crazy Environment laws that, in Ascents case enabled one man to delay the IPPC permit for the first THREE YEARS. Of course it is now up to FIVE YEARS but the man can only be blamed for the first 3 years!!!!!!! Since then we can only blame the Slovenian Government............................. LOL!!!!!!! 5 years and counting............ Why not invest in Slovenia?????

to URGENTLY advise any potential investors in Slovenia of the extreme risks they are taking. I have read some frankly ridiculous interviews she has give to some Slovenian papers etc. saying how the UK wants to have good trade relations with Slovenia!!!!!!!!!!! FFS get real. WE should be cutting off Slovenia from ANY trade with the UK. We have 3 times their population in just London. They are THE LAST Country we want to be investinmg in. THE LAST!! Please tell Sophie Honey this. I will be.

Jure Leben is the Minister of the Environment in Slovenia no permits will be issued to Ascent. Thus the one gas well that still produces will decline until it in not commecially viable. May not be already but Colin would not tell us if that was the case anyway IMHO. Not a man to be trusted. The only meaningful pressure that could be applied would be to moth ball the gas field, lay off all the workers, then tell the media out there that it's all due ARSO the environment ministry not issuing the permits. This is overseen by one Jure Leben who is strongly suspected of deliberately stopping ANY permits for the gas field, whether they are for fracking or, in the case of the IPPC permit for permission to build a gas processing plant. Unfortunately the board are happy to wait and wait and wait and wait, draw their wages and swan around Croatia looking for a business opertunity that Ascent will never be able to afford. I believe Colin is simply savbing his wages and praying for a permit that he really knows will simply never arrive with Jure Leben as a minister. He knows this.

1. Jure Leben is and will block any development of the gas field as he thinks gas is not environmentally friendly.
2. He will not admit this because he might get taken to court, so the permits are forever in the system being processed. The permits will NEVER be issued while he is in office. One now around five years down the line. Bear in mind the permit for renervating a stadium is Slovenia has been held up for TEN years so far. If Ascent still exists in five years (I doubt it) people will be posting here about the 10 year wait........
3. Colin thought that the share holders were going to back the last cash call that could have raised what, about a million. They only got about a third. Shareholders are not backing anything Colin says.
4. Colin and the board are simply hoping that a permit will arrive and are drawing their wages for as long as the money lasts. Colin does not seriously think any permits will ever arrive as long as Jure Leben is a minister. I now think Colin is lying to investors about the chances of getting any permits. IMHO there is NO CHANCE AT ALL of ANT permits while Jure Leben is the Environment minister. More chance of the Sun freezing over.
5. Anyone buying shares in Ascent are simply paying the directors wages and the Slovenian workers wages until Ascent goes broke. Jure Leben is happy the Slovenian workers still get their wages which are now partly being financed by shareholder money. Mostly British money of course. More money for the Slovenian economy from the stupid British shareholders?? J|ust about sums it up??
6. The only way IMHO to have the faintest chance of getting a permit is to suspend all operations, lay off the work force and blame Jure leben and the environment ministry ARSO in the media over there for the job losses.
7. Unfortunately the board do not have the back bone for the difficult decisions and simply swan along waiting for the money to run out. They will jump ship a few months before that happens.
8. Court action would take too long and if the people in ARSO are wiling to lie Ascent may not win the case.
9. Anyone who buys shares in Ascent must be mad.
I still hold some shares but they are written off. I blame Jure Leben for my losses.
