In the RNS dated 14th June AST say they are to Appeal to the Administrative Court in Slovenia. The last time AST tried this route this court's ruling was shall we say rather disappointing and if memeory serves AST called it illegal. So don't hold your breath. The EU route is the one that would get their attention. This Country with only TWO million (one third that of London) should be very worried indeed about AST going through the EU courts as they actually follow the written law. I believe AST has a very good case because the I believe the Slovenian Government has not followed it's own laws, or EU law regarding the disputes. One problem....... financing the lawyers and it taking I would say one year minimum.

The last RNS warned about further dilution so presumably that is why the sp has dived.
At least shareholders have been warned.

the long legal haul by the looks. Could reap big dividends but got to be a year or more down the line. Luckily I got out a while back.

No, I did not miss the good news about the IPPC permit.
Unfortunately having permission to build a gas processing plant is no good if you:-
A) Don't have enough gas output to feed it by a huge amount, and your gas volumes are decreasing.
B) Need permits from the Slovenian Government to enable stimulation of the existing wells, or you are snookered.
C) Actually don't have enough money to stimulate the wells even if the Slovenian Government allow it so would need another placing.
All in all a pretty nasty situation if you tell the truth.........

.seem to want to give us. sp hinges on them, although if we got them I would be out quick 'cos of the likely fund raise. In fact I'm not in now thinking about it. What one needs is a low sp.......... say ask 0.25p, then permits arrive........ bid 1p. However how AST are ever going to get the permits I don't know!

placing if they could. The only surprise is they found an "investor", or should I say "total loser" to place the sgares with. I got out @ 0.75p on the last good news by the way. Any investor needs to ask what AST have going for them, then make an investment (or not) decision. I'm in the or not camp as how can anyone see AST making a profit at all, let alone a few million £. Even with the 2 permits they may not get how long/how much more money will be spent before they realise any profit? If lucky 3 years and £5m if you ask me. So where is the investment money coming from......... hello shareholders!!

I post my opinion. It's pretty obvious that Ascents future depends on getting permits to stimulate the 2 existing producion wells and the other what...... 7 wells? If not they may be able to struggle on using compressors but without stimulation I don't believe the field is commercially viable frankly. I think the directors want to invest outside Slovenia but Ascent simply does not have anywhere near enough money.

PMO are no longer potentially bidding for any Chevron assets in the North sea I take it.......... which IMHO is good.

an Environmental Impact Assessment is all very well. In fact I believe there is a 90% chance of winning. BUT that won't get Ascent the 2 permits it desperately needs to carry out the hydraulic stimulation at the 2 existing wells. Without the 2 permits Ascent are in a dire position IMHO. With the permits the sp would easily double IMHO. It all hinges on the 2 permits.

If they get one or both permits to re-stimulate they will be back in business. If not it's difficult to see how they will survive frankly. You know this.

I've been following this share for several years.
Anyone who thinks AST are not in a bad position at the moment must be frankly daft/stupid.
The IPPC permit is good news as it would allow AST to build a gas processing plant.
2 MAJOR problems.
1. AST have less than 1m in the bank. Building the plant would cost more than £6m.
2. AST do not have anywhere near enough gas to warrant building the plant, so the permit at the moment is useless. AST could only get enough gas to warrant building the plant if several more wells were opened up AND stimulated AND they delivered between them more than 8 mmscfd. At the mopment the 3 wells deliver under 1 mmscfd as we all know. Even if AST got the permits to re-stimulate the 2 existing wells adding several more would take I guess about 3 years and a shed load of money which they have not got.
I fear many have bought in recently without checking the RNS history that will explain where AST are.
Good luck all. Don't believe the rubbish some post here. Read the RNS's for the last 2 years to get the real picture. Not good.

If Ascent can proove that Slovenia has broken EU law's when dealing with Ascent maybe their population should wake uo to the possible impact of a £30m plus bill to pay? I wonder if the new mInister realises this? I bet they think "it won't happen". But they may be wrong. As a member of the EU you have to comply with EU law. This is not some communist group that bends the law when it wants.

1. No appeal against the IPPC license by anyone in Slovenia. Is 18th the latest thay could?
2. Win our appeal that the Environmental Impact Assessment is not needed.
3. Get the permits for re-stimulating the 2 existing wells.
My view:-
1. Odds 50/50.
2. Likely we will win this appeal 80%.
3. Frankly I don't think we will ever get these, and even if we did briefly there would be appeals that would last years. 90% chance we won't get IMHO. Sorry. Without them AST will struggle to survive I'm afraid.
