RE: Results3 Oct 2023 08:19
This time last year the SP was at £2 and we were waiting on MHRA's authorisation so that we could begin P1 on 1801.
A lot has happened in the last 12 months. Downside was MHRA (due to their own incompency) did not authorise 1801 ofr trials and SP was decimated. However the aussies came up trumps and not only did we get permission to start trials there but recruitment was done in double quick time and we are trials are already well under way. Riverfort were used to fund trials, this spooked the markets as RF are often seen as payday lenders, however it would appear they have behaved themselves and have recouped what is owed in a responsible manner.
So in short there are 2 perceived negatives: the first being UK MRHA's refusal to authorise 1801 for trials and secondly, the use of Riverfort for funds. The 2 perceived positives are that Aussies have been brilliant iro authorisation and trials and we are probably much further forward than if we had had permission granted in UK, and, RF have acted responsibly in cashing in their shares and as a result SAR are in a much stronger and heathier position.
Now weighing up the positives Iwould argue that carrying out the trials in Aussie land was probably the best option anyway, it's a shame we didn't bypass UK in the first place, and, using RF funding mechanism was also the right way thing to do. The SP being where it is is down to market sentiment and perception. If we had said we have decided to go to AUS for trials as they are better equipped and are more efficient and proactive, and that RF have approached us to be our trusted partner, the link up with RF will give us the stability and funds required to get us through trials which will enable us to get top dollar price when we put 1801 & 1802 on the shop shelf I would imagine the SP would be far higher than today's price.
I know it didn't quite play out that way but it does highlight that perception has a massive bearing on the SP. Both scenarios above have exactly the same facts. UK says no, we go to AUS and then we get RF funding. However 1 version leaves SP at 80p but other would probably have SP at £2.80. Shows you what good PR could do.
Either way, ultimately there has been a lot happening in the past 12 months and SAR are much further forward. Probably further than we would have thought we would be 12 months ago.
On that basis I think we are massively undervalued and on that basis I will keep topping up when I get the opportunity.
