You can’t really compare to other companies because no 2 companies are the same. They all have different sized discoveries, risk factors and a host of other variables.

Personally I’m a little less conservative than even some of the more enthusiastic posters, and think this could be well over £1 on funding/FID. Maybe not on the day of the announcement itself, but on the days/weeks that follow after momentum builds. That’s just my opinion though.

I don't think they are skint as such. They are not flush with cash by any means but they have cash in bank to tie them over for the forseeable.

From what I remember it's Navitas who have mentioned that they are interested in a 3rd partner. They certainly won't be skint when Shenandoah funds start coming in - but probably prefer to share the risk of raising $1bn+ with another party.

The price can rise if the company is reducing it's sole assets, if the reason for that reduction is because another partner is coming on board and increasing the likelihood of the production of those assets.

It obviously decreases the value of their ownership of the basin. But if a partner comes on board commiting funding and helps get FID over the line. Then the increase in the likelihood of production will significantly offset the decrease in value of the asset resulting in a net gain IMHO.

I'm quite optimistic of OM result coming in April.

Last I heard from Sam he'd been advised by the lawyers that an answer could well come in the next few weeks (this was towards the end of March).

However there is no formal timescale so definitely not guaranteed. But sounded positive to me.

A few years ago you posted that you bought £250k worth (a few days after saying you were skint and gutted that you couldn't buy shares).

Can't remember the price at that point, but if I was going to guess it was somewhere in the region of 6-12p. If all your trades are posted live then at what point did you post that you sold those shares, which would have made you about £1-2m if true...

You previously mentioned you had a holding of £250k... if that was true there is no way you off-loaded that at 48p.

Even if you miraculously guessed the absolute peak and sold at the perfect time. You would have had to have sold at a few pence under the bid to offload that volume.

It’s worth noting he’s not even a very good businessman.

He inherited a vast amount of wealth and New York Real Estate at a time when it was almost impossible to not make money from NY real estate. Since then he has managed that fortune almost as erratically as he manages the US.

He has however had self-made success in WWE wrestling and reality TV, two areas where being a fake and being a self absorbed attention seeker are seen as virtues.

There surely must be financial laws broken in this scenario. The average person must be so careful these days not to make any statements that constitute financial advice. Yet the man in charge of the decisions affecting the largest economy posts a “buy” recommendation on twitter, shortly before a major policy swing that was guaranteed to impact the markets significantly.

Don’t worry about the price of oil.

Other posters have confirmed that the price of oil has no relevance to a company who intends to extract and sell oil.

Supply and demand.

In this case, OPEC have ramped production up (increased supply) and Trump has caused recession fears (potential for decreased demand). Perfect storm which resulted in one of the worst days for Brent in some time.

Completely agree with what you have said about the other factors and money being moved away from risky assets etc. That’s affecting all markets at the moment. But the original posters question was why has RKH been hit so much worse than the major indices. Which in my opinion is because of the short term drop in Brent, and the fact that AIM shares are generally more volatile than shares on the major indices, so any drops or rises tend to be exaggerated VS the indices.

If you’ve tracked the Brent chart vs RKH over the years you would see that on any “non-event” periods, if there’s been an increase in Brent price then RKH generally increases accordingly, and vice-versa.

I’ve been in and out of RKH since DES.

I wouldn’t have my pension invested in here if I was questioning the business case of Sea Lion.

My comment was in response to someone who asked why we thought the share price has fallen so sharply despite the market in general not falling as sharply. Seems to me that it might be because price of oil has been hit particularly hard. So oil shares would naturally suffer a hit.

No intention of deramping/ramping, or questioning the viability of sea lion in general. Just a comment on the short term price movement…

Agreed - but I was referring to the share price now, not 3 years from now. The project needs to be sanctioned a long time before 3 years from now. The lower the price of oil, the less likely that’s to happen.

As I said, hopefully the trend reverses and so will the SP. But the price of oil is the most important factor for this share.

Time will tell but I think the expected boost from ISA allowance may be overstated.

I’m not sure too many people will throw £20k into a share just because it’s 1st day of the tax year if the markets are uncertain.

The most important thing is the price of oil. OPEC have just unexpectedly ramped production up, and a recession would cause demand to slow down.

Brent fell sharply yesterday and I imagine this is the main reason RKH was hit so hard. If that trend reverses it should shoot back up as fast as it fell, but if it continues that would not be good for the share at all.

Brent crude lost around 7%, which is closely linked to RKH for obvious reasons.

Plus AIM shares are always more volatile than indexes or blue chips.

Personally, I think this (and markets in general) will get worse before it gets better. But will present some good buying opportunities in the short term to load up before the action happens later this year.

Navitas have said on a number of announcements that they are exploring the option of adding a 3rd partner. They also have numerous other projects with more than one partner.

Whether or not they'll bring one on board for Sea Lion is another matter but I wouldn't rule it out on the basis of it not being Israeli style as it's clearly something Navitas are not opposed to.

What part of the announcement gives you that impression? Unless I'm mistaken it reconfirmed that FID is on track for mid-2025.
