Trump is one of the only examples of people who provided inside intelligence info to billions. Posted “now is the time to buy stocks” on X just before pausing tariffs which would obviously have a material impact on global markets.

Imagine if a CEO posted “now is the time to buy our stock” and then shortly afterwards released an RNS with a major positive announcement. Crazy world we live in 😂

BB_Hoppa - Yes I understand the recent institutional investments. In response to "Do you think they would take the very nice view that "There's a difference between"?" - I would say yes they would. I imagine they would be fairly intelligent people and be able to rationalize that investing in a UK company who has investment and partnerships with a private Israeli company is not the same thing as supporting the military action that the Israeli government is taking.

By your logic, I presume you feel that anyone who has any investments in UK companies supports every policy decision and action that has been taken by Keir Starmer?

BB_Hoppa - There's a difference between investing in a private company that happens to be located in Israel and run by Israeli people, and disagreeing with the actions of the Israeli regime which is a separate entity to Navitas altogether.

I have nothing against the people of Israel, and as far as I'm aware Navitas or its team haven't done anything unethical. (Unless you count oil exploration as unethical, which I don't).

I think Trump is a nutcase as well, so by that logic it would mean I can't invest in any American company without being a hypocrite?

Anyone who believes Trump is acting reasonably as a president is nuts. He's clearly lost his mind. Not just when it comes to Iran.

He's taken over Venezuela on the basis they export drugs. What's the difference between Venezuela and other countries that export significantly larger quantities of drugs (Columbia, Mexico, Peru etc.). A few 100bn barrels of oil...

He said he wouldn't rule out using force to take Greenland, a peaceful, democratic territory which is part of Denmark. A country which regularly ranks among the happiest in the world. Why does that nutter think he has any right to do that?

I'm not sticking up for the Iranian regime by any stretch of the imagination. They are a violent oppressive regime, but unfortunately there are many others like it in the world. Trump was voted into power on the basis he promised not to try and police the world and get involved in foreign wars like others (e.g Bush) had done in the past.

Honestly the only redeeming factor he has is that he genuinely seems to be mentally ill and needs medical help...

I tend to avoid politics if I can. But I would probably describe myself as a centrist leaning slightly to the right if anything. Definitely not a “lefty” or anything of the sort.

That being said, I think Trump is an absolute nutcase. I genuinely believe he has numerous health issues. Undoubtedly narcissistic personality disorder, and judging by his latest behaviour possibly some sort of dementia / Alzheimer’s.

Regardless of whether the situation is good for rockhopper or not. I will be very glad on the day he is not in charge of the USA. He poses a bigger threat to the world than any elite leader I can recall in my life time (in my opinion). And as much as I want my Rockhopper shares to continue to grow I’d much prefer a stable and less bonkers world to live in.

Landman27 - my comment was mostly tongue in cheek. I agree though, when you adjust for dilution the curve in terms of market cap is upwards, but unfortunately the dilution has meant that hasn’t translated into a higher SP than recent highs quite yet.

Even if it may take decades to fully play out, but if the share price is rising over those decades which it will do (assuming the curve plays out) then I don’t think anyone will be complaining.

To all the folk who’ve asked when does the Lassonde Curve kick in… let’s hope the answer is, Now 🤣

How did the long suffering ex-Argos shareholders do out of this deal?

I had a small holding in Argos, but sold the lot as soon as the RNS landed that their interests were being bought by JHI, at a big % loss obviously. Didn’t see this one coming as early as it has! Hope whoever held their shares managed to get some return.
