Profit taking or top slicing a perfectly normal event imo. Example, I am a small investor and have dabbled in PAT several times over the past two months selling my stake just days back. If the sp dropped say 20% on this news I would buy back in. If you are in it for the long run sit back and wait for assay results.

The valuation depends on who owns and runs CNE.

If a company like XOM bought CNE in 2021 then they would extract the $1bn from India pretty damn quick but if it remains as we are, I would expect to see some payment from India next year and no huge mark up in sp unless oil prices rise.

I think the "dividend" is a side show to the main event the arbitration award. CNE will receive something in cash from the Indian Gov over 2021 and probably further payments in years to come. The dividend at least demonstrates that the company will return profits to the shareholders which is why I bought back in and will try and hold CNE for a year or two.

I hold 15,000 in a HL SIP and thinking of adding. Average price paid 208p so it is a no brainer to hold until at least January to collect the dividend.

In 2021, might a bid emerge? Probably, it looks like a steal at these prices if the new owners are big enough to lean on the Indian Gov and force them to cough up in the next year or two. As always a compromise deal will be reached with installments etc.

Bought another 5000 shares this afternoon as I think 35p relatively cheap.

HL 207p to buy and not too pricey imo.

Opening now and I wonder what investors will make of the RNS? I hope it might add a few per cent to the sp gain this morning.

But the UK Gov is talking to India about a trade deal in the next few months so I think some of that money will be paid. Or is the Indian Gov smart enough to launch a hostile bid and buy CNE this week?

Up 12% in a day and no comments? Either a very quiet board or some very confident holders, maybe both?

I am glad I kept some shares in HUR in the hope of a bounce but I am well in the red and only a low ball bid is going to rescue my ass.

After the special div news I bought back in having been in and out of CNE for many years. Annoyed but not entirely surprised to note the sp has dropped again today despite a payout coming in a few weeks hence! CNE has the allure of a payout from India but the price of oil or something always manages to disappoint the holders.

But the market makers (crooks and manipulators) have pegged us down 5% despite the gold price!

On the way down in March/April/May people were talking about 250p being a good entry point. Well here we are, any takers? Personally I might add this week as I feel BP a reasonable punt at 250p ish.

Is HUR a write down or write off? Probably the latter but the bond holders will sell it off cheap to a mid cap oil company at some point.

Someone has purchased some more shares....at least the institutions think PAT a worthy punt. The news is encouraging imo.
