As of early March 2026, Iran has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz through a combination of declaring the critical waterway closed, threatening to target ships, and causing a halt in vessel transit following major regional military escalations. The blockage is enforced by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) using threats of attacks on tankers and has caused insurance, and therefore shipping, to stop.

Key Methods of Blockage (March 2026):

Direct Threats & Prohibitions: IRGC officials declared the Strait closed, threatening to set fire to any vessel attempting to pass.

Effective Shutdown: Shipping in the strait has come to a "slow crawl" or total halt, with vessels not broadcasting signal, indicating a stoppage rather than a total physical barrier.

Economic Exclusion: Insurance providers withdrew coverage, making it financially impossible for commercial vessels to operate in the area.

Potential Tactics Involved:

Naval Mines: Deployment of naval mines by fast attack boats and submarines.

Asymmetric Attacks: Use of fast boats, drones, and anti-ship missiles to attack vessels.

GPS Jamming: Disruption of navigation signals in and around the waterway.

The strait, which transports about 20% of global oil and gas, is now considered a high-risk zone, causing significant global economic impact.

ICC-2 Annulment potentially any day now, the prior drop on ICC-2 will then be seen by the market as justifiably invalid, backing up Zenith Energy's legal position on the Arbitrations, and the price could shoot back up very quickly as big confidence in Zenith's legal claims returns.

Luckily for Tanzania, Gas in Tanzania was about $3.70 Wellhead price and still will be because it's in the agreement and the Tanzania internal market for Gas is protected from global spikes like this. The majority of their cars, vans and trucks now run on CNG for this very reason.

Reminder. Long Rainy Season runs from sometime in March to sometime in May.

If you look at the satellite image, there's probably about 35% of the trench dug, going from Ntorya-1 to and around Mbwala. It looks like trenching has stopped, suggesting to me that the pipeline will be done in 2 or 3 phases.

Phase 1 which is the first 35% they are doing now, being completed before the Long Rainy Season.

Phase 2 being either another 35% after the Long Rainy Season finishes in May, but potentially the remaining 65% in one go, it all depends if they have the staff and logistics to do 65% in one go, or do 35% then move everything and everyone to the next chunk.

Phase 3 if that's the case, would be the final 30% to Madimba GPP.

Maybe don't get too excited about how fast it's going, it's not going to suddenly go from First Gas in September to First Gas in May, the Long Rainy Season has been factored in by ARA and needs to be factored in by investors.

Yes, but IMVHO mainly Institutions that need the lower risk because their internal investment policies require that before they can put a penny in.

With PI's it'll be a mix of:

1) People already in and watching closely, topping up on the news because they are expecting it.

2) Short term traders looking for a quick profit when they see the RNS.

3) Automated trading systems detecting what should be a dramatic volume increase accompanied by share price moving up

4) A few risk-averse people that have been sat on the fence waiting for Ratification.
