Mate please, my last post was a response to Wyn and gem -in isolation. They commented on a portion of what I said (the short version - Oh.... the irony, he already lives in police state and doesn't realise it) that was my rebuttal.
I know full well what you guys were talking about, it's an idea, I get it, it's not lost on me.
Here you go Mr & Mrs snarky. We are not there yet - by a long chalk. We live with surveillance, yes, but to the majority it's invisible; no one is as yet required to carry ID, passports, even a driving licence; no one is required to identify themselves 'on demand' yet; no one is being dragged from their bed yet, unless the police have legal cause etc. I don't like the trajectory we are on, but we are not there yet. FFS! Have a read below, cultivate a balanced view FFS!
A police state describes a state where its government institutions exercise an extreme level of control over civil society and liberties. There is typically little or no distinction between the law and the exercise of political power by the executive, and the deployment of internal security and police forces play a heightened role in governance. A police state is a characteristic of authoritarian, totalitarianism or illiberal regimes (contrary to a liberal democratic regime).
Originally, a police state was a state regulated by a civil administration, but since the beginning of the 20th century it has "taken on an emotional and derogatory meaning" by describing an undesirable state of living characterized by the overbearing presence of civil authorities.[1] The inhabitants of a police state may experience restrictions on their mobility, or on their freedom to express or communicate political or other views, which are subject to police monitoring or enforcement. Political control may be exerted by means of a secret police force that operates outside the boundaries normally imposed by a constitutional state.
Wyn, in truth, I can disagree with you. We are heading rapidly toward a frightening future, my thoughts were revolving around my desire to, in no way personally, accelerate the inevitable _ I'll be pushing back against the tyranny at every opportunity, we are (Britons) a bloody minded lot!
MrAdventurous - That's a view with credibility, makes sense. Thing is, these guys are here en-masse pretty much constantly, which doesn't quite chime with your view in isolation ( I'm not discounting it) so I think it's perhaps a little more complex.
Geez, Twatter, disingenuous sole aren't ya. you would have us believe that the success of Omega pivot around HMG in isolation; it's a component, a potential slice of the business.
Contracts from the States could easily eclipse revenue from the UK in time, it's a giant market, with a FED that can underwrite any spending of the current administration, regardless of any opposition squealing - they're already in the financial mire, a couple of extra inches won't matter.
I don't, and will never advocate any move toward a police state, one has to consider that if society places so much emphasis criminalising theft of people's, businesses assets (and it does, robustly) then perhaps a case might be made given that the net result of this activity is financial loss.
Unfortunately we live in a country and at a time that provides all measures of protection for (in particular) financial institutions who are free to act with impunity - a paper tiger watches over them - he's a gummy chap!
Metaphor: your in a theatre, one person somewhere in the back shouts 'fire, fire' startled people look for the exit (which two people wide) and a 'funnel shaped' exodus ensues, it's panicked, it's rapid, it's disorderly. Unsurprisingly, many get injured.
Now apply to the financial carnage created when these hedge fund goons turn up and start to frighten the horses!
The price slides, stop losses are triggered, the price slides, gains momentum - panic takes hold of some - carnage ensues.
It's definitely true, no doubt about it.
Also, when you hear the refrain "nothing that is said on these bulletin boards has any effect on the share price" this also BS, it absolutely has an effect and its efficacy as a technique for manipulation is amplified significantly at times of volatility - why you see a rise in negative intensity at these times. Basic psychology applied to reinforce people's natural herd mentality
Yes Indeed - line of coke (sharpen the focus). It will be interesting to see what he has to say. Let's hope for grandiose vision, underpinned by facts, not mere hyperbole.
Or
We are pleased to announce that, following the successful trails of our MiicrotoxBT .... blah, blah, we have partnered with _______whomever to produce the first batches....... This would be good.

That would do it.

Hi Bemm, is that an intentional elbow for the 'curious' post of dflynch - relevance - spit test -what!
Said yesterday, I was surprised myself at the recent trajectory, but remain hopeful. One piece of good news, and we turn around -tangible, revenue generating news!
We are off on a jolly to another conference, won't do it.

I haven't intentionally killed much for decades; wasps, flies, def not bees, moths - a few (ruined far to many suits) but if A1 'the bug' were crossing my path, 'splat' he'd be a goner, and not sniff of remorse! Ha, ha, he's ******* r o a c h.
No mate, you're on your thread, I'm on the other. It's a response to his insinuation that I'm being touchy b'cos of the share price....couldn't give a fcuk mate!
Nah! I've done well this week thus far. Made out like a bandit with Avacta and Omega, so I'm happy, just need Iilka and Tirupati to dip, and I'll crack a bottle for the weekend.
Ahh, OK, you were joking..... yeah, me too, Just joking. Fun and games.
Next you'll tell us the Skin TC website was knocked up in an afternoon by a teen, post school, in xchange for a Playstation!
Good Lord, I think anyone who knows anything about robust app development knows it costs a $hit ton more than £150. Ha ha ha.
