"Report on 5-Day Security Visit to the United Kingdom
Organised by AWLS Ghana Limited in partnership with Westminster Group PLC
Between 19th and 23rd September 2025, a high-level Ghanaian security delegation undertook a five-day official visit to the United Kingdom for a Security Demonstration and Exhibition hosted by Westminster Group PLC, the sole partner of AWLS Ghana Limited.
The delegation included senior officers from the Ghana Police Service, representatives from the Bank of Ghana, and officials from National Security. This visit was designed to expose participants to cutting-edge international security technologies, foster institutional collaboration, and explore solutions relevant to Ghana’s security and critical infrastructure needs.
Key Activities
1. Westminster Security Demonstrations – Banbury
The delegation observed live demonstrations of some of the world’s most advanced security solutions, including:
* Covert surveillance systems
* Drone and counter-drone technologies
* Weapon detection and screening equipment
* Mobile cargo and vehicle scanning solutions
* Command-and-control platforms for real-time monitoring
* Discussions were also held on integrating these systems into Ghana’s operational frameworks to strengthen border management, anti-terrorism efforts, and critical infrastructure protection.
2. Visit to the UK Parliament – London
* The delegation had the privilege of touring the UK Parliament, including the historic House of Commons.
* During the visit, delegates engaged with Members of Parliament and discussed the importance of international collaboration in tackling emerging global security threats.
* The UK Parliament visit underscored the significance of democratic oversight in security policymaking and provided valuable insight into the governance framework that supports national security in the UK.
3. Strategic Engagements
Bilateral discussions were held between Westminster Group PLC and the Ghanaian institutions on future cooperation in areas of:
* Advanced technology acquisition
* Training and capacity building
* Maintenance and after-sales service support
* Westminster reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Ghana’s security ecosystem through its longstanding partnership with AWLS Ghana Limited.
Outcomes
* The visit deepened institutional relationships between Ghana’s security agencies and international partners.
* Delegates gained first-hand exposure to security innovations that will inform Ghana’s procurement and modernization strategies.
* A roadmap was discussed for potential deployment of specific technologies in border security, anti-terror o
