Roche are investing $50bn in USA, I would think AZN would have to follow suit to keep up with competitors.

I have interest in AZN, ABBVIE, AMGEN, GILD, JNJ, ROCHE, VERT.

When shares are sitting at 6% + this is where it shows through that the EPS does not cover dividend.

It should be a reduced dividend in my view to 5% to aid BP’s growth and pay down debt which this yr could top $29bn thst is 1/3 of BP mkCap.

If we want FTSE 100 companies to improve and grow like US counterparts who don’t struggle like this as much, lowering divi is an area that needs attention to clean up its act of just being a dozy cash cow

Checking previous numbers Q1 was 11c on EPS, versus a predicted 7.2c marked by a collection of analysts

BUT on year we’re looking a robust jump from 2024 EPS.

CVX opened $54.50 01/2006, today it’s $134, hit $174 in last 2yrs.

XOM opened $ 56 01/2006 today $108, hit $123 in last 2yrs

Don't like the fact they are still doing buybacks while long term debt has gone up around 2 billion in the last 6 months or so.

If interest rates are at same point they are in 12mths, that big pile of debt is going to eat up more and more of the earnings that will no longer be available for dividends. STOP the buybacks and start paying down more of that mountain of debt instead of adding to it.

I wouldn’t be reinvesting Dividends randomly unless you know what market conditions we have.

Rio’s EPS will be hit, just like BHP’s will be on IRONORE this year from China’s slow down.

Furthermore, since 2022, the dividend has been on a nasty slide, BHP’s dividend payout is close to that of 2017/18 levels .

RIO’s might fair better though.

It’s a good global fund. Have also had CTY, HFEL, JEMI.

Then again Iv also invested in MA, HSBC, OXY, ABBVIE, CROWD, FB, GS they have rocketed…
