You may have a bigger pullback once the DLG goes through and AVI pays out the cash and shares to us new AVI shareholders?

We at DLG are looking at early June -July due deal to be finalised..

I’ll say it again and I’ll keep saying it, BUYBACKS have destroyed BP, it shows a lack of direction.

BP may not be a good investment. However, buy backs of over 60 billion over the past have done nothing for shareholders as share price is about the same as it was in 1997.

I believe that this 60+ billion would have benefitted shareholders more via acquisitions which would have increased earnings and cash flow.

I also disagree with the statement that share buy backs are a return to shareholders (unless share prices increase as a result....which they have not).

One of the worst FTSE compsnies, VODAFONE was another one I’ll add into mix…

So, how will understand what the value of our own AVIva shares are per shareprice when listed?

Like if the shares were given to us Tuesday 6th Mayand AVIVA shareprice then is 565p.

We have 129.7p in cash per DLG. So I’m guessing our break even would be above 600p.

Consideration: Each Direct Line share is valued at 275 pence, including 129.7 pence in cash and 0.2867 new Aviva shares

I have been in BP since 2006 Invstrat, along with four other oilies MATEY..

the point I’m making is that BUYBACKS are a waste of money to business model.

They SHOULD be paying down debt. Take buybacks away SP continues it la drop due to poor growth / earnings. I have a good grounding of accounting measures.

Business model at BP is shoddy and can in my view be only called a cash cow and nothing else.

HSBC is valued more like 1200p! Not 1000p

AAL announce today they will deserve Aa plantinum business very soon.

Could BHP return with 2nd buyout offer?

The only reason why we did not drop further I believe, IS because they most likely used another $1 billion of debt to do buybacks yesterday to save it to a 333p plunge.

There has been no upside from high oil prices for shareholders unless you bought the dip.

BP historically has been a Div stock with limited growth to the share price.

Still side with CVX & XOM over BP anyday. It’s still dire here… but it’s safer to an extent

I’d agree, 300p before 400p.

Everything has to go Elliot’s way before this picks up steam.

There is nothing here that make you want to own BP.

I’d rather go and paint my outside house again that through money in at this level.

333 is roughly 50% from the drop. So, im waiting for 333p before considering anything in lower, or not at all.

I agree. Why would you want to sell at these levels, though as Buffett taught us, sell when people are being greedy, be greedy when people fearful.

Been here in HSBC since 2006, though like most FTSE100 shares they seriously underperform USA.

I bought GS in 2009 in banks, and yes it’s not a retail bank, but has been the goat for me since then.

Both are heavyweights.

On BP’s EPS turned worse than what was predicted of 7c it was 4.2c …it were 11c Q 2024. Dividend is not covered this quarter as i mentioned would be the case weeks ago.

Having been following Elliot’s ideas with TXN & PSX in USA, one of which is to totally break up Philips 66.

What if he totally breaks up BP? I wouldn’t certainly not be buying into BP until he mentions actual plans rather than just talk…I wouldn’t be a seller, but just add after dust settles

I believe we’re in for a big tumble tomorrow.

Nasdaq, marketscreener, Tradingview all have big declines expected on EPS.

Hopefully ELLIOT can change BP’s way and play catch up with counterparts.
