I put together last night 4 actions that if the government actioned would give us ample more control over the pandemic than just simply vaccinating everyone and that's it. The first fix should be to just correct the culture of 'if you have the vaccine you don't need to do anything else, mingle at free will', its baloney and is contributing significantly to the spread. Why would I want to pay for a test to prove I'm negative to board a plane to then sit next to someone who has covid.

You either do away with the negative test part of the covid pass and just have vaccination is king or you do away with the pass completely and test everyone. Well I'm all for test test test.

How is the guidance on masks going BJ. Can't even follow it himself.

The guidance means nothing and they know it, but at least they can say 'i told you so' when asked what they did to help stem the pending wave. Diabolic

Sounds to me like we have short term traders bickering with long term holders. You both have different goals, beliefs and perspectives, hell, you both might even agree on the long term potential of CHILL. Just appreciate your differences of opinions and perspectives and move on. Neither of you will sway the other so call it a day and move in.

CHILL might drop and probably will until we get news of sales but this doesn't mean it's a flawed business. It just means that uncertainty is winning for the moment. CHILL is a start up and with any start up uncertainty will be a huge factor. Silence feeds this uncertainty sometimes. That's all that is happening.

Ultimately, no one knows what is going to happen in the short term but I am a little more confident in the long term. You can name call and pull each others opinions to pieces all you want but it won't change anything.

I agree with a lot you say Nova. My summary is:

Do away with Covid passes. Everyone should test before entering a restaurant or night club or whatever. No test just because you have the jab is ludicrous.

Testing should be increasing not decreasing. Focus and money should be being pumped into reducing the times of PCR tests and improving the accuracy of LFT's.

Government should focus on educating the elderly and vulnerable on the personal risks of taking the vaccine Vs the rewards.

Bring back simple restrictions such as masks inside, 1 metre rule, sanitise, work from home where available. Really simple rules that go along way. If it is impractical such as in restaurants and cinemas or planes then a negative test to get in should be mandatory.

When we finally get a vaccine that stops us catching this thing then we can start to get back to normal. Until then, doing what we are doing now is focusing in the areas and will just lead to increased cases and a high risk of another mutation. Only time will tell but GLA

Nice to get some positive RNS's recently. Yes they were never going to move the SP today as only sales figures will do that but take it as a positive that the bod are now starting to talk to us.

I believe the government are looking to reduce testing further. I think they are ok with letting this run wild. They have offered the vaccine to pretty much everyone now so in their eyes it will soon be job done. Testing will be scaled back to hospitals and other health care settings and that's it.

Their strategy is extremely risky and one thing could absolutely blow it out of the park. A mutation. Let's see how it unfolds. Either way, Ncyt are global so not particularly concerned.

Nova, sorry for your wait. I know it isn't easy. We know the vaccine doesn't stop the spread but covid passes appear to me to be possible causes of spread. More spread = more opportunity for virus mutation.

Secondly, my age group for a fit and healthy person is very very very low risk for being hospitalised so I don't believe it is all age groups that are the problem. Yes there are exceptions to that rule as there are with most rules but in terms of contribution to overspilling hospitals it is miniscule. I understand people's argument of taking valuable beds if it is aimed at maybe the vulnerable or the elderly as they are proven to be far more likely to require a bed if they catch covid. Having said that, the decision to take a vaccine should still be made by the person receiving the jab. If they say no then it is down to the government to educate and persuade based on the risks/rewards.

All I here the government say is 'get a jab, it's safe'.

Not everyone needs a jab. There are countries that can't get any because countries like the UK are using them unnecessarily imo.

On Saturday WHO regional director Dr Hans Kluge told the BBC that unless measures were tightened across Europe - such as on vaccines, wearing masks and with Covid passes for venues - half a million more deaths could be recorded by next spring.

So 20 people queue up to get into a restaurant. 10 vaccinated and 10 unvaccinated. Unknowingly to them, 5 of the vaccinated have asymptomatic covid, none of the unvaccinated have Covid as all have tested positive. All 20 show their Covid passes at the door and are allowed to enter the restaurant. There are 5 vaccinated staff also working in the restaurant. So 25 people of which 5 have Covid all dining, laughing, breathing together.

Remind me again how Covid passes help to reduce the spread. Honest question as these passes are being pushed from the very top WHO. I must be missing something.

The level of neglect and corruption shown by this government will hopefully bring them to their knees.
