You mean(and I suspect) AS did not draw up a collaboration with Mologic specifying the S protein test as conditional before an S/N test which is supposedly, if he ever gets one out, to prove from data in use that it can control the pandemic. I don't mind a S/N test but would like AS to actually do something with affimers only or doesn't he really believe in them.
If he can't dot the Is and cross the Ts he will be walked all over and he needs a test for the S protein using affimer reagent mixture to prove his laboratory data. Maybe affimers can detect the N protein too together with some Mologic chemistry but we would be halving the reagent profit take and not showing what AVCT can do on its own.
He should nip out to Brazil and see if he can get something saliva based up and running quickly where there are plenty of infections.

Well said hp4020; break the cycle with AVCT LFT otherwise might as well shut up shop. Win the control argument as the way to prevent lockdowns which can no longer be acceptable. Either way Larsh, tests are required but it is better to argue for them with a possible positive outcome due to LFTs.

Larsh; it is easy to have an unhealthy desire to see a need for LFTs in the future but the argument for them has to win the requirement for them to stamp out the disease and survive in the post lockdown times. AVCT can prevent a third wave if use of our LFT - preferably saliva- is seen as a solution for spread control. Whitty needs to explain things.

CV could be imminent for a Medusa19 Avacta test with the same method of use as their antibody test as you suggest in your 22.24 post Alchemyst. It may be that La Paz Hospital in Madrid is the same hospital as Mologic are using and Medusa showed the way. As I have said, the saliva test is perfectly adequate for control purposes so hope Medusa have developed an antigen test with affimers. That would put BooHoo critics in their place.

50 minutes in. Suspect hospitals would not give up their existing diagnostic capacity for covid so a dedicated and simpler machine with less qualified staff is being developed for it.

It is the consortium that has helped AS develop the test. He has deferred to the sovereign push and benefitted from it in that hurdles have been pushed through with the shoulder of government. He has kept an iron in the fire with Mologic/Spain as a semi controllable collaboration following a debacle (presumed) with Cytiva which I suspect was brought on by UK regulators who all along have tried to apply inappropriate scientific techniques and protocols for validation.
Society has never bothered about the spread of colds before but I think we all know how to stay free of them if required and that is mainly by avoiding sneezy/runny nosed people/crowds only with covid 19 a test is also required until data one day says it isn't.
