Hasina needs to give the go-ahead for her credibility imo as the project delivers for the people in education and jobs and the country in filling the exchequer to satisfy the IMF and the Chinese are keen on international oversight.

Not such an open door for big projects but I can't see that Phulbari should dampen Chinese enthusiasm to get started and if other projects are more difficult to get over the line Bangladesh might opt for the obvious one to help with the debt hole and a project PC is geared up for.

@15.11, I am invested thinking OPM is a certainty so your either or does not work. The way to proceed is to double list and issue more shares with EGM approval which transfers ownership, this way all those connections are aligned and probably part of the negotiations while Tang and POLO and others bat for us in negotiations for the new setup. Everyone retains an interest in a stable market scenario and GCM expertise is retained.

It is not imo a good move for a takeover to happen as it will arouse the usual partisan politics

That is an updated page and is really just a brochure although authoritative. The licence itself has to be worth £500m to buy back but why bother as GCM are the best entity to carry the project to conclusion and that £500m valuation will grow as they succeed in developing the project.

All the talk of range control and connections with a trading float is not illegal. Organised trading to accumulate at cheap rates indicating a strong likelihood of approval and necessary for Bangladesh. Some traders I acknowledge may have had a go but were dumb doing it with the connections in control. Tang has been playing politics(networking) to get it over the line as needed.

Possibly Invester , I do remember being unresearched and open to being shaken out. Conversely a PI buying this one should appreciate the one reason for doing so and I like to emphasise the range control to them so they stay holding.
