'China and India are doing better than us'. Each country has roughly 1/4 of the World's population so of course their GDP figures will be better than ours as they emerge from the feudal system. Most live in abject poverty and want what the west has. As their wealth increases they'll travel like you and I probably on a RR powered Airbus. Get the idea? I doubt you do.

Glad to see some Forum participants that see sense. Trump is upon us, we have to deal with it for a few years. The assumptions we had about the socio economic world need to be reevaluated. This ain’t going away any time soon. We’ve had a good run with RR wrt the SP. I believe RR will continue to be an innovative world beater in the new order, what that looks like no matter be really knows yet.

Went to see John Simpson’s Leaders & Lunatics tour last night, brilliant evening. Anyone would be humbled listening to him. He says Trump is a King (a narcissist and mad one!) and surrounded by courtiers that sycophantically suck up to him, which we know. Think Vance, Rubio et al. This is a war and one of the biggest threats in 80 years. So what we all thought a few months ago has gone and assumptions are non existent in reality. The world won’t stop turning and most of us on this board have good lives. Good look to everyone on whatever they decide.

I think you have nailed the situation Retirement. I also have no doubt that the SP will be back at an all time high within the medium term, long term who knows. The next weeks will be based on fear as opposed to pragmatism wrt RR. No one knows but the chat on this forum (the good bits) certainly help us get a feel of the mood music affecting our decisions. Anyone will buy bonds if the yield and security fit their needs, unless countries put a ban of buying treasuries. I think this is all about unsustainable debt which has surged post banking crisis. The UK spends more on debt interest than education and debt combined. You dont need a dodgy degree in economics to realise that this is a road to nowhere. 36 Trillion is unsustainable. My feelings are that we never let the effects of the banking crisis unwind, we printed borrowed and debauched currencies. Is this the start of banking crisis MK2? There's always a catalyst, Barings, Lemans, Tariffs. All IMO of course.

Didn't sleep well last night. Woke early and sold at £6.40. Fundamentally nothing has changed and I believe RR will be valued in hundreds of billions within a few years. So yes i'll be back when I feel the time is right. The old adage of it's 'Time in the market' not 'Timing the Market' would seem to be good advice. But I think so many 'ordinary' people have made life changing amounts of money they'll be taking money off the RR table, which logically doesn't make sense but psychologically is kind of does.

Oh and by the way Cev, yes I totally agree that hundreds of billion mcap is feasible. I know little of SMRs but I know someone who does. It would seem that Ultrafan and RR SMR are out there and whilst not quite a monopoly as near as damn it.

Cev, listen to yourself. I have a little knowlegde wrt RR and aerospace in general. My point was that a deal will be done, deals always are. What better way of cementing it than as the guest of HRH with the British PM. That doesn't seem difficult to comprehend or seem far fetched or off RR topic does it. If I can proffer some advice Cev that would be don't wade in with the insults but go straight to constructive feedback. Again you are spot on Flyingdale. I'm no Labour or Trump fan, but it is what it is. Make the best of the situation using diplomacy and standards. Hopefully Starmer Labour will use this to set the UK on a clearer path. The post war boomer wealth has gone. We're going have to carve a way through the next century in the digital age with hopefully Bae, RR , JCB etc as prime industrial beacons. I'm praying that Starmer sees sense on all fronts. As you say he's no fool and far brighter than most politicians.

I think you're on the money Flyingdale wrt Starmer and Charlies diplomacy and the deal being announced whilst Trump is the Royal guest. It'll be a beautiful thing!

Boeing is rapidly becoming a bottom feeder like RR was twenty years ago. Tufan has changed that along with Airbus. At the end of the day if Ultrafan delivers on economy and performance then Boeing will have no choice but to offer 737 Max and Ultrafan combos. The Max keeps the grandfather rights wrt certification and Airbus cannot compete economically airframe wise. Maybe Boeing’s survival will depend on doing the unthinkable. All imo of course. Even without Ultrafan on the 737 the 320 family numbers will still be several thousand over the next few decades.
