Spot on FordM. Farage is a dangerous individual with no answers, only promises he is unable to deliver, and will never have to deliver. Thankfully the UK generally are moderate, centrist and fair people in the main, and that includes many new immigrants who settle into this country. That is why labour has become electable as its move to the centre. The tories have a lot to answer for, 1.4 million visas issued last year! The channel crossing crossings pale into insignificance compared to visas issued. What we need is an effective border force to process and weed out illegal immigration. Patently the current level of immigration into the west will destroy countries. The tories or Farage have no answers. Let's hope Starmer does. This is a complex situation that needs urgently, and it wont be easy. This is all IMO. Apart from that FordM, I hope you are enjoying the returns on your RR investment.

Brilliant analysis of the EDF vs RR situation wrt Sizewell Nettles. Are you sure you are a cat? You sound more like an owl! So how does the splitting of the contract, i.e awarding the SMR contract to both EDF and RR fit into the mix?

I don't disagree with what you've said about the last labour administration, the next Starmer administration don't have the answers, but to re elect this bunch isn't going to happen. PR, slimming down the number of MP's and paying a proper salary to attract people of calibre is the only way forward IMO. Will it happen? Probably not. We'll function despite government, stuff the boomers have come to expect like health, pensions becoming the preserve of the more comfortable in society. My natural voting tendencies are centre conservatism, which has long gone.

Using your feline logic nettles WRT Mcap is quite enlightening. RR must surely rank along side Ferrari, VW and BMW in terms of propulsion, transport and tech advancements in their respective fields. Brand and sentiment also play a part in these companies. All IMO of course.

There may well be some kind industrial announcement on the 8th, as some pay rise claims have only recently been submitted, but this wont affect the recovery. The kind of announcements that move share prices dont get announced on bulletin boards. Nettles speculates on solid criteria as to future announcements like the Fitch upgrade, the next is a Divi reinstatement, then SMR contracts, increased flying hours. All pointing to a sustained positive outlook and SP growth.

Both Mcap and SP are where they were a decade ago. Throw in RPI and 5.0–5.5 seems a fair SP given the turnaround that RR seems to be achieving. Throw in Positive SMR and further Airbus RR orders and a SP of 5.0-7.0 seems fair price. Subject of course to unforeseen issues both within and outside of RR. I can see RR being driven by illogical sentiment over and above what might be considered prudent expectations, but that’s why my money isn’t sitting with Mrs Goggins.

I've been invested since October 22 at 70 plus pence and further as the unlocking continued to average out at around £1.50. I have accumulated quite a large holding, my bingo number was £3. This has come and gone and I wont be selling as the momentum is clear to see.

I used my contacts and friends to get advice on RR in the early days, which was way off the mark. As the SP started rising your opinion started to make lots of sense, and your opinions started to sound like what the so called experts should have been saying. I'm in the fortunate position of exceeding my bingo price by quite a way now, so barring any Black Swan moments i'll stick with RR. £5 -£6 will be quite easily achieved on momentum alone according to my (so called) knowledgable contacts. We'll see. But life is good, so as you might say this is just cream!

Your logic and knowledge is clear and now looking very sound. 70 Bn Mcap, investment grade and return to post pandemic flying hours plus etc.

I can’t convince you logically of £7 plus, but sentiment and the heard instinct will be massive when successive Governments have to admit that power security is one of their key tenets. SMR going to just a handful of foreign buyers, with or without UK Gov getting onboard will be massive IMO. Boeing also being in the poo could well see major issues with 737 NG/Max, which will further cement the value of RR.

Ron R, the lowering of standards began on the CAA's watch under JAR as happened to much of the industry worldwide. Trusting Airlines and manufacturers to monitor their own standards was always going to end up in a fail. Much like letting Banks monitor their own lending criteria. I mean, who could see the banking crisis coming with lending multiples of 10 times salary!
