Scinv's point about trial sites is a good one. We know we were delayed in opening up widely due to lack of drug - and it now transpires that SNG was offered at just 25 sites of the final number of 251 trial sites. Remember that SAB was just a couple of 100 short of completing the 1200 needed for P3 when the program was stopped. Given that SNG started 3 months before SAB - if the same resources had been available SNG should have completed P3 before Omicron arrived.

All ifs and buts now - but a reasonable hypothesis. Timing has been crucial throughout this process and the delays were caused by small pharma capability and mentality - a small pharma which now finds itself with 10s of 1000s of doses when they were needed in January 2021.

Glad we have the results at last. We knew they would be a pass and we knew the trialists were mixed and the protocol did not favour us - even as well as our own Home Trial did, so to see 86% in such a small sample is encouraging. SAB passed into P3 on Day 3 viral load clearance but also failed to reach statistical significance on hospitalisations. Blook work really important as others have said. We know that SNG is never going to be a mass market drug and anything that adds to the genetic profiling of our patients will help.
Confused a little by the wording about the way forward.

What does (as and when approprite ) mean ? Surely as and when is NOW !! There is just one PT for Covid and it's about to launch.
And it's still an inpatient game for SNG. Unless the next variant is a killer NIH will continue to support the companies that are making Mabs for outpatients.

Once again Nature sums it all up beautifully. The tone is not as alarmist as you might expect - and the last paragraph offers hope - even against the worrying new variants

I don't think MHRA has approved Moderna's BA.4/5 vaccine has it ? FDA and EMA have done so but can't see anything for the UK. They're only using the BA.1 adapted Moderna vaccine as far as I can see. - wjhich works fine against 4/5 (along with the original Wuhan Pfizer for first timers)

Then lets try again. Many of us had a soft spot for Woody back in the day (partly I think because of his health issues) but his contributions since Feb 21st have been deranged to say the least and if the RM post is true then he has notbusiness being anywhere near this forum.
I'm going to report his last post - which began this thread - and I'll include the allegations that should have led to his permanent removal. I invite others to do the same - particularly those who actually read the offensive post - and I'm sure the moderators will take action. Do it today and we can move on and Woody can do the same

personally never saw the post - but surely it's better to attempt to get Woodstock removed from this forum permanently if it really was as offensive as many have described it to be. I certainly don't like to keep re-reading the accusations - often presented in the most lurid way. What did the moderators say when it was brought to their attention ?

broad spectrum is a meaningless phrase until you are actually being used to treat more than one condition. And this has to start with more than one successful trials. We don't have any yet. SNG almost proved statistical significance in it's P3 for Covid - has tiny but interesting COPD data - equally interesting LC data, but not of a kind that you can act on easily, and nothing at all for Flu.
We think it all adds up and that taken as a whole the drug has consistently proved itself but even if we manage to join Mani's dots, until someone else does it's all just potential.
Covid and Strive remain the obvious and best route forward, but i think the company has given up on its C-19 ambitions.
Hope I'm wrong but when the CEO doesn't even mention the biggest trial in the company's history by name, or atte,pt to highlight the achievements it delivered it send a bad message .

What tosh. Flu will be a bit more dangerous this year - nothing else has been in abeyance because we've been washing our hands. And Synairgen will have to start at the forst step for flu or COPD. It STILL has a chance to get a P3 completed for something that you tell us over and over has not gone away and might evolve at any moment to evade everything science has created to defend us.
Why anyone who believes in SNG00! would even countenance anything that isn't an attempt to confirm the Sprinter post-hoc at this point in the pandemic is utterly baffling. You camne all this way Fruits andnow with a hey ho - thems the breaks - you're off over the fences chasing flu and copd

Nope Feef56. Covid is still where it's at. Half the posts on here are about the imminent dismantling of the last defensive measures. And the other half are about new wariants that will soon evade even the new vaxes. If either of these scenarios occur we'll be back to 1000s od deaths a week in about 3 months time. So Covid is definitely still the game. And Synairgen is still sitting on a bomb of a drug that could potentially save an extra 30% of those most likely to die. The only reason the company would be repositioning is because it's lost confidence and doesn't think it'll get onto a Covid PT.
Flu and COPD deaths have been with us for an age and will be with us till the end of time.Nobody is suddenly going to start addressing them with even a 10th of the priority that they will still focus on Covid.

The interviewer asked if Covid trials were over - giving RM the perfect opportunity to say - "Oh no - we're definitely still pursuing a P3 to validate our near miss with Sprinter - did I tell you how good the post hoc was for those most at risk?? " and instead he said - "we're continuing with what we were doing before the pandemic and furthermore findng patients for Covid trials is now going to be very difficult. " ( which of course is just nonsense with hospitals filling up again and likely to be full throughout the winter )

Strive is definitely happening. It is designed for life beyond Covid - and will eventually welcome other respiratory trials. It will leave the station this autumn - but will SNG be on it ?

I've had the email update service for a very long time Paladin. Usually arrive a day or so late but yesterday's were there just after 7am. That IS progress. Mary Conway has been with us for at least 15 months . Not sure exactly when she came onboard but sure it's a pay as you play arrangement.
