I dunno if there's any cross-read to SNG, but the Evusheld decision was a penny pinching disgrace and had nothing to do with length of protection. It's been used in so many countries effectively and has already saved 1000s in those countries, with a 50% reduction in progression to severe disese. Even if BA5 is overtaken by a new variant (such as BQ.1.1 ) in the next month or two - shielding patients could have been protected from mid August to the that point at least, which would be a longer period of efficacy than some of the other approved and then deleted mabs.

You wake up on a beautiful Saturday morning and all you can think of is to reignite this old piece of crap. For the record Titania started a thread about shareholders contacting their MPs - which was supported by some - but not by others. I posted that if people really wanted to write to someone relevant they could try Stacey Adam - for an update on Strive - and then added that maybe Broooke could update us on RM's confident statement about SNG trialing this winter. Did he still have the same degree of optimism - was the question. You and others have posted the relevance of his positivity several times so i pressume you'd still consider this key, with winter almost here and no news of a new trial.

I'm with JoeyD. Polygon want their money back or as close to it as possible. The language in their boardroom on Feb 21st would have been fruity and anything but patient or supportive of Synairgen's board. They spent £6m chasing their original £60-£70m investment. Clearly believing there's life in the old dog but hardly going all in. If they knew what Mani and TommyD are suggesting they know they'd surely have invested much more. Thet'll be as reassured in the drug as we are but I doubt they are still confident in the company. The P3 errors were the errors a small research company makes and it's hoghly unlikely they believe Synairgen can finish this job

The only conceivable answer is that some PIs will have higher averages than Poly. If they've been waiting only to recoup their investment, they'd potentially be able to do this whilst still leaving some of us high and dry. It fails as a theory though because for the sp to reach their break even at least one majorly positive event would have happened and probably more than one - at which stage (as I pointed out a while back) confidence would be so strong that Poly would be as nuts to sell as anyone else would - ( unless the PI's average meant that they were already in considerable profit. )
Doesn't mean they want to stay for the whole ride of course, or have confidence that Syn can really get the job done - and my belief remains that they'll be happy to take a decent profit by supporting a TO mid trial

So they're partly looking for more repurposed drugs - as ever - but with space for novel treatments. Presume the COPD data is more useful in this regard than our LC data - which was generated as a bi-product of a successful Covid trial. Does that make sense ? Improving LC ought to be a given for anyone who does well on a Covid therapeutic - but does that mean it can be used to treat the damage caused by Long Covid. The principal area of investigation will be the lungs still - and that's why I think the COPD might be more use. Layman's view and would be grateful for anyone who can specifify how we'd qualify.

exactly right Gunto. I posted that it was unnecesarily ambitious in early 21. Who really cares where your patients come from - except maybe Parexel who were selling their top of the range product to a wide eyed Philip Monk
There were some good reasons for widening the P3 of course but UK,US, Brazil, SA and a couple of EU countries would been more than enough (Brazil because they'll make the data say whatever you want it to down there :) )

The fact we're even discussing this is ridiculous though. A new trial still needed after millions of potential trialists and 3 winters of Covid ! Nom de Dieu !

As for the next company trial - how do you think it will play when RM stands up and says we missed Sprinter because of size - we just didn't have enough patients to prove SS - but here's an even smaller trial to get us back in the game (don't worry though - we know who we're targeting this time... )

Yep - think we're on the same page here Aether. Hope you get a response from Brooke. Tricky for her as she really won't want to tell us if the winter trial is now looking unlikely. In fact she won't.
Suspect you might get a "working at haste" reply if you get anything.

The only thing that is true is that if the company doesn't get on the trial it promised us in the next 4 months whether Strive or as a JV for somethimg else - for that is the only way of interpreting RM's AGM remarks about treating patients this winter - then whoever then still wants the company will be welcome to it at any price. If anyone actually did - for by then we'd all have to accept that Govt trial regulators and Big Pharma's acquisitions departments might conceivably know more about the commercial prospects of SNG than Polygon or even Tommyd.
Hopefully we don't get to this domesday scenario but if RM sits in that Proactive chair again to announce another fundraise, the game will be well and truly up.

Most PIs are stuck with the averages they had before Feb 21st - with a few brave souls managing to average down. (I might just be saying this as my average is still so high and i don't have funds to bring it down to a level I'd be happier with - but it must also be the truth)
