My personal view based on nothing more than gut feeling is that she will go through at 7-7.5 knots.

I'm estimating 18 days for the journey to Rotterdam and 3 days for Rotterdam to Lancaster (or Shetland anchorage). The time in Rotterdam is pure guesswork.

If AM continues at her present speed she should arrive at Suez on the 29th and in time for the northbound convoy starting 4.00am on the 30th.

And I also remember the rather muted response to a question about the chances of FOIL in Q3 18.
Look at reverandys post on 3rd October and the estimated dates for the FOIL sweepstake. Why were dates from the end of August 2018 proposed. The answer is that in an interview towards the end of 2017 RT gave the distinct impression that the AM would be at Lancaster around September.

It was obvious to me by that muted response at the AGM they knew that work on the AM was going to take longer than originally expected.

In the presentations work on the AM was listed as follows:
1 Repair and life extention
2 New mooring system and turret buoy
3 Limited vessel and marine upgrades (primarily greenwater protection)
4 Limited topside upgrades

If such work was not envisaged at the outset it may account for the extra time.

I expect it is down to labour costs but I doubt that any of the parties involved would want to advertise that hence the emphasis on quality. There must be yards in Europe which could have done the job but probably at a price which justified the expense and time of the return journey to Dubai
As to the time I think it took longer than HUR expected, departure was just outside guidance time although the FOIL target in H1 19 is still easily achievable. Had the job been done in Europe then yes we could have been pumping oil now.

If HUR have even a half decent legal team I cannot see how they could hand over 50% of GWA and allow the beneficiary a get out clause.

The last RNS announced that The Capital Group Companies had reduced there holding below the point at which they are required to notify the market. All of the new shares issued last year for the fund raise went to institutional holders who are now sitting on a healthy profit. Is it not likely that at least some if not many of them will be taking some of that profit ahead of FOIL and the EPS. Private investors are not going to pick up that quantity of selling. The only way to maintain the current share price and or advance it is with fresh institutional buying.

ROG provided the plate. They had to ensure that it would not get stuck on the seabed during the fitting:

"Before lifting the cover into the Aoka Mizu, air pressure hoses where connected underneath the cover to ensure that it was not sucked onto the seabed. Divers connected the cover to the hoist and ROG began the controlled lift, which hoisted the moonpool cover into the correct position. Once in position, sea-fastenings were installed and secured."

Removal of the plate may be less demanding but it will then have to be lifted from the sea bed. I thought Nigg would be better equipped than Lerwick.

Anyway it's all academic as we know it will be done at Rotterdam.

The suggestion was that she would have to refuel at Malta, which I though was unlikely, and I note you agree. I only mentioned the gas turbine generators as a possible additional power source. I am aware that their primary use will be generating electricity from gas produced from oil extraction. Whether or not they will be used for this journey I don't know; as I said no information is given on gas storage capacity.

Regarding you comment on dropping the plate WoS I guess that Nigg is the nearest place they could do that. It had occurred to me that Nigg might have been a better stopover than Rotterdam, assuming they have the lifting capacity to fit the flare stack, and having had the work done they could remain in calm waters to await a weather window. Obviously Bluewater have their reasons for using Rotterdam.

Diesel capacity is 3106 cubic metres but no info is given on gas storage capacity. If you remember there were comments on the board about an LNG tanker some weeks ago and Tarkers mentioned the generators running prior to the most recent tanker visit.

We shall see but its not of any great significance provided AM can arrive WOS in six weeks as per guidance.

The stop at Malta was determined by Salvanguard's range, or endurance which is 40 days towing.
We cannot be sure but I imagine AM is fuelled for the entire journey.

CA hold HUR shares. They are free to sell and buy as they choose. Thankfully we live in a world where we are free to make our own decisions. Bernstein will sell and or buy for the benefit of his fund regardless of whether that is in the interests of HUR and it other shareholders. Fact of life; and just ignore what he might say on twitter.
