The suggestion was that she would have to refuel at Malta, which I though was unlikely, and I note you agree. I only mentioned the gas turbine generators as a possible additional power source. I am aware that their primary use will be generating electricity from gas produced from oil extraction. Whether or not they will be used for this journey I don't know; as I said no information is given on gas storage capacity.
Regarding you comment on dropping the plate WoS I guess that Nigg is the nearest place they could do that. It had occurred to me that Nigg might have been a better stopover than Rotterdam, assuming they have the lifting capacity to fit the flare stack, and having had the work done they could remain in calm waters to await a weather window. Obviously Bluewater have their reasons for using Rotterdam.
