Does anyone know the reason for the trading volume today. Very curious as 2016 Results are due tomorrow.

Last year IGG posted interims on 19th January. The ex dividend and payment dates were 28th January and 26th February respectively. As this years interims are due on 24th January you can make a reasonable guess that this year the ex dividend date will be early February and the payment date early March. On the subject of their dividend policy the board says: “the interim dividend each year set at approximately 30% of the prior year’s full-year dividend.” If the board are true to their word this years interim payment should be 9.42p.

On 14th October the offer was declared unconditional. In the published document (RNS) it states regarding settlement: “Settlement for those Alkane Shareholders who have validly accepted the Offer by 1.00 p.m. (London time) on 13 October 2015 will be effected promptly in accordance with applicable English law and regulation, and in any event, on or before 28 October 2015.” I was hoping that it might have been earlier than the 28th but that now seems unlikely. Its not unreasonable to expect an announcement when settlement is actually made.
