It’s highly likely that the US & Europe will be in Recession by that time, which will reduce Oil demand. Locally the UK’s inflation was forecast to be just above 10% by yearend. Currently it’s at 9% & yearend is now forecast to be in double digits. Short term Oil demand should increase due to the holiday driving season.

Hi JMAX, with a nominal closing price of 53.55, I would say zero of any value above $86. If the PI traders that bought yesterday hadn’t sold today extracting the increased value, the closing price would have been higher. Seasonality & low volume, this be the issue.

Oil may have bottomed, well above it’s 50 day M/A & supply is so tight that WTI is trading in parity with Brent at a shockingly low $108. Oil usually rises when the new contract is primary. We will see tomorrow.

As I understand, there was an Oil inventory draw down reported yesterday which accounted for the rise but the Shorts got the better. Low volume Oil contract changeover day today coupled with low volume seasonal PI participation, offers an ideal opportunity to Short the stock doon.

Hi Barcelona11, Shanghi has just announced zero covid, which may place a bottom in the markets. Impossible to say but a revisit into the 60’s is highly possible if Oil remains elevated. It just takes time to work the sellers out. March high was 63.52.

Hi Spud, sorry to read of ye loss, but not surprised. It might bounce who knows. If a ‘clients’ order is to be filled, that might be at a lower price ? Remember the stock falling to below 1p & later two new market makers appeared. In general Shanghi has just announced zero covid so this might put a bottom into the market. Commodities & commodity stocks, up. Take a look you might be able to recover losses better, else where ? Best of luck.

Hi Dicky, looks like you’ve finally seen the light, I’m sorry to say. I worked out a few years ago that about £500m had been sunk into this & thought it’s highly unlikely that investors would get that back. Many posters have pointed out the Red-Flags over the years & there’s plenty of them. A sorry state of affairs. I note the Industry trade was closed off last Monday. The all time low is a tenth of a penny & Price-Decay may see that revisited.

Good to see the stock breakout above the 50 Day Moving Average. It takes time to work the sellers out. Why o why do they sell so soon, a lack of technical knowledge ?

This was progressing well until the Day-Traders sold out & extracted the increase value at around 53.50. This could have increased over the day, now the lost value has to be recovered, which might take until sometime next Week.

US CPI inflation rose today but by less than expected, indicating that it may have peeked. If China ends it’s lock downs over the next Month or so this should put a bottom into the Markets…… & yes Oil is moving up.

Forecast Oil demand to increase by approx 1.9mbpd in May / June, as seasonal driving activity increases.

Week after Week & may continue for a few more Months.

Yes a global Recession looks on the cards for next year or sooner & it will cause demand destruction, which will drop the Oil price, so enjoy the party while it lasts. Europe’s announcement this Week to end the use of Russian Oil over a 6 Month period was meant to reduce the impact on the price. Rationing at the pumps has also been discussed as an option, as governments struggle with inflation.

Hi Bumbum, just a question: did you make that trade yourself yesterday or instruct the Industry on your behalf ? Quote, Market or limit order ? I ask because the mechanics are rather interesting.

If you sold a large position & bought it back a Month later & kept repeating this, it would oscillate the stock. Is it manipulation or just the way it works ?

Tullow has no control over it’s share price, it sold it’s shares at IPO.
Re results: what will the profits be & what ‘Dividend’ will investors receive ?

Tullow is a Trading-Stock not an Investing-Stock. Sella profits are not being reflected in the SP because it’s being diverted to servicing the debt. I would guess that a lot of Investors have realised this & have jumped ship, which is the reason for the extremely low volumes being daily traded.

£1 takes a lot of da money. PI’s they already a buy, Market Makers & the rest of the Industry, they already a buy. So where all of da money coming from to takie to £1, so everyone else can sell at a profit ? Anyone know any dumb millionaires ?
