Well it looks like a London Stock Exchange problem as it seemed to have affected most websites. Order book trades are being reported but non-order book trades are not being sent through. So AIM trades would have been included in the outage.....

Well....I think we have had two or perhaps three weeks of rising sp here....It could be two rises and one unchanged...... Any how....I think we are changing a very very very long term down trend....may be... So just for fun I have picked between the numbers.....When we first went to 9p a few weeks back...we never got any trades near that price at all...just a marked offer price of 9p..... Last week we got marked back to 9p again....and this time we had buying above 8.75p....which is the bullish sign...for me....so it tells me that after the recent rise and a week of unchanged price...we now have a little momentum building...a strange fact for buying a stock that has been in terminal decline is not buying right at the bottom (rarely is it done) but buying after it has in fact risen quite a bit to show strength. I am in work tomorrow for the long day....but I expect to see an increased bid price and some more buying in or at the 9p level.....have a sneaky feeling that there is little stock around now....... So I fore see a strong blue week a head....:-) Good luck all....

Well as the younger batch of trained up doctors and surgeons come on stream...it is very pleasant to see so much openness and confidence in technology, where many of the older crew are not interested. Of course...the new generation have grown up familiar with tech stuff and do not need to be "trained in" in the application and use of tech devices..... So yes the waste in appalling and costs are wild.....but it is certainly changing. Medical devices are becoming much more integrated in hospitals then ever before......I suppose it was always going to be tougher to make in roads in tech that that is invasive to the human body.....it's not really like self service check outs!!! Change is a coming though!!!

The cost bases with bench tops is that the more you use them the cheaper each blood sample becomes....on a busy ward of course.....Hence it has been aimed at ICU/Theater and the likes..where blood gases are taken quite frequently....especially the sicker patients...... I would suspect that as the news of a reliable product gets out into the market.....the more the benefits will become apparent. This unfortunately is one of the major down sides to not having a world wide distributor signed up.....as they would have gotten the message out much more speedily then we are presently doing.... But it really doesn't bother me too much either......Tragically....I would imagine that quite a few of the children badly injured in the recent bombing in Manchester, may have ended up in the MCH and most likely in their ICU......In certain cases and if injuries are very traumatic....then blood may very well be taken every hour, in order to alter ventilator settings. As the patient responds to the change in settings....the gas can be taken immediately and results can lead to improved settings in life support.....so yes...the more ABG taken the better and especially if it means the blood is not been lost but been returned to the patient.... That would be regarde as very impressive by most anesthetics on the ward...

But you have to remember....that is only the cost of the blood to the hospital after all the screening and so forth that the blood gathering company does to get the blood cleared for use.. The real cost of blood is actually in the transfusion process. So when the blood gets delivered to, lets say the ICU stock......it then has to get from the fridge into the patient...and that is the big cost....A blood transfusion is certainly not cheap...and totaled with the cost of the blood in the first place is probably closer to £400/£500 per unit!!! Expensive business eh?

Theater and ICU staff suffer from shortages too in hospitals...We currently have around 140 nurses for our ICU/HDU ward to cover 24 hours for about 20 patients....That covers rosters, holidays and general days off.We are currently short about 25 positions for staff nurses on the unit. So in order to cover safely, we have to close beds off. We presently run with about 17 beds open...some times 16 if someone phones in sick. Theater is worse....they have a huge shortage and so procedures get cancelled at the last minute because they can not perform the operation safely due to lack of staff. Surgeons have their meetings in the morning to figure out what goes a head and what doesn't based on staff, and beds available. The theater may be staffed fully but there may be a shortage in the ICU because we have had to close beds due to lack of staff. Again operations get cancelled. Some patients die because of cancellations sadly. It is a horrible mess...is the public health service....

JL....The MCH are participating in some studies with the Proxima system. The link is a poster done out for the further presentations to be made. It also gives some feed back from the staff who have had to use it....They seem pretty pleased as to the reduction in blood loss as well as time saved. While to you or I or anybody here...it may be known...it is still very new to many in the front line...Getting sales into big hospitals is a huge benefit.....as it spreads the word around....The fact that the poster has the MCH along side The NHS Trust logo....along side Sphere logo...is looking very good indeed....

Figures collated by the Nursing & Midwifery Council show that the number of new applicants from the EU fell from 1,304 in July last year to just 46 in April this year. The dramatic fall in applicants to work in the UK is likely to place more pressure on the NHS as it grapples with a recruitment crisis, and increase political pressure to secure a guarantee for NHS staff from Brexit negotiations. There are an estimated 57,000 EU nationals working for the NHS, around 20,000 of whom are nurses.

Am expecting some trades above 9p this week......might even get the bid above 9p this week.... So could be another good week......

...Started around 7.50p and ended up nearly a penny......And while we got no news from the AGM last Friday..... we have seen a hardening in the bid price...... Of most grounds for optimism is the fact that so far we have had no real selling as is usually the case. I dont think we have any good news factored into the sp at this level....so we could be looking up at long last........

I missed this report from April....but still interesting..... Sphere Medical is launching Proxima 4, the first patient-attached blood gas and electrolytes (BGE) monitoring system on the market, which could transform the way critically ill patients are treated. With cash-on-hand of £3.2 million as of December 2016 (vs £10.0 million at end-2015), we would expect the company to raise capital in the course of 2017, likely through a rights issue or convertible notes. I cant access the whole article but certainly different....
