Some strong buying today, back in the 20s

Wololol - IP Group sold out of AVCT before the current rise. It was at something around 29p mark, something I was very aggrieved about and could not fathom - I’m a holder of both. Thanks for the tip on DMTR, will have a look. I’d recommend XSG in return

Agreed, as Mexico is strictly in North America. It appears Zama will indeed be sold

Bear in mind 15p would only be a £65m MCAP.............that's very achievable if things continue to improve

AJP - the next trading update will be revealing but I can quite conceivably see 15-20p in years to come, if not sooner. Green tech is a hot sector atm - I'm in 'green' energy companies such as EQT, PHE, VLS, SAE and their SP have rocketed in recent months, based more on sentiment rather than fundamentals. If that sentiment transfers over to the likes of XSG and ITX then I think we can expect similar sharp movements. Perhaps this is the start of it........

The other game changer could perversely be Biden's election win and more importantly the fact they control the Senate with the 2 wins in Georgia yesterday. They will now have a mandate and the ability to push through climate change bills and the economic environment will look less rosy for frackers. This will hurt supply, and have a knock on effect on higher prices in future. This plays into RKHs hands nicely, and there may even be additional interest from companies who no longer see the US as an attractive market for oil exploration so have to look elsewhere

I don't day trade, I have a full time job and too many other holdings in my portfolio to be able to focus on intra-day movements. Just because I have a different view than you, doesn't give you the right to cast such as aspersions

Agreed, was massively pumped by their biggest fanboy Myles...........all hot air atm. Potential yes, but nothing further beyond that as things stand. A highly prospective share, one to buy on dips and sell on sentiment

It's good that Invesco are out, they were a cloud hanging over this from the Woodford era. Everyone knew they wanted out and to disassociate themselves with Woodford......and that's not a reflection on the quality of IP Group or the companies that it holds stakes in.

I sliced a tranche yesterday at 111, for once I appear to have called it right. Granted it was at a loss because my average here is an eye watering £1.52. I don't expect to sell anymore until Nanopore is fully realised

There’s always potential for delays with covid, however my view was that the board were being rather cautious in their evaluation. We have since had 9 sales of Xdrums to Ramsons.

It should also be noted that one of the key markets in China is not adversely affected by covid.

My view is that even if further fundraising is required, it would be at least 12 months off and most likely on the back of a stream of positive announcements in 2021 which will see the SP significantly higher than this. All IMO.

I look at some of the other shares I’ve been in - PHE and EQT are not even profit making but have seen a surge in sentiment to have valuations of upto £300m all based on potential for ‘green’ tech/energy. I can quite conceivably see that transmitting to XSG.

There were also comments posted on this thread after it. No further dilution is expected. I was one who interrogated them on cash flow and from recollection they have enough until Q1/Q2 next year and that is without revenues which are expected before then and should enable them to be self sustainable with their licensing model

In relation to Woodford, my admiration is for the companies he identified and then backed..........fledgling companies need that support. He was wrong to continue taking fees after suspension. I don’t necessarily agree that he let people down as such - all investments are a risk and people should take a balanced view. Lots of companies go bust and people lose out........I have done previously in companies such as JJB Sports and McInerney Homes.

Well done for staying in Ceres, I sold out at £6.50 (prematurely in hindsight). I’m in some others in the sector such as EQT, PHE, VLS and SAE which are doing well. The sector is hot atm and I expect XSG to benefit from investors looking for ‘green’ and ‘sustainable’ companies in time to come

Surfie - how long have you been a shareholder here? Anyone who was a shareholder in the Neil Woodford days will be sitting at a large loss. He owned 40% of the company and IP Group a large chunk more. The fire sale they enacted saw it lose 4/5ths value overnight at the end of 2019. The price went from 5p to 1p overnight and then lower still. Dark days.

Somewhat ironic, as Woodford has inadvertently lost me a lot of money but I admire him all the same. His eye for some small cap companies is 2nd to none. Avacta, Itaconix, E-therapeutics and Ceres were all his babies and I’ve done well out of those. Xeros was particularly painful due to the huge reliance on him and the poor strategy of the board (before their licensing approach) but I’m confident it’ll come good

Topped up further this morning, bringing my average down to a shade under £6. I've been in here a long time pre-Woodford departure, so have experienced plenty of pain but remain committed. I've put in far more than I usually would in a share but strongly believe in it. Getting back to break even will only see the company with a £120m MCAP, which is very achievable, maybe even in 2021 if things go well. GLA

I'm similar Symbo, although I did take a chunk out when it went from 65p to £3..............should have taken the lot in hindsight. I even averaged down a couple of years ago, that was a terrible decision. 30p average now, if I could get half of that, I'd take it

Don't think it's anything to do with the POO - you have to extract it before you can benefit from it!
