Caspian has spent so long being boxed in by people’s tight notions of what a good production figure for a Deep would be 3,500 bopd seems to be the upside hope for some with a downside of maybe 1,000 bopd?

Well maybe we need to relax those preformed ideas. Would 10,000 bopd a day be possible? The answer is we don’t have a clue as to the upside.

So maybe just maybe this could surprise?

The draft CPR may well be with the company already awaiting formal checking by the company and signing that the information supplied is “True and fair” by the directors before the Competent Person signs off.

On the time difference between reviving the signed CPR and the audit sign off, add in about a week as the auditors will take that long to recheck their “Risks” and arrange for a formal second partner review ahead of the sign off and relisting.

The delay is simply down to the Auditors internal timetable and the fact that Pantheon are not BP or Shell.

The chances are that there have been a number of parties in he data room who are potential partners but with the Premier/88 Charlie 1 well coming up why do a deal now?

Charlie 1 will provide a test for both the old BP/ARCO well on the 88 ground as well as ARCO pipeline 1 well which Pantheon is using as a reference for the two Talitha prospects.

If you think about it the data room will be filled with information but why would bet you wait a few weeks to see if that is validated by a real audit test at Charlie 1 before the geological and geophysical teams lay their recommendations before the “Money” guys who will make the $100m plus decisions on a Pantheon JV or not?

So a short wait till we find out if Charlie 1 hits the “Black Stuff” and then if it does another 4 weeks for the flow tests.

Clive has been the soft protection zone that has screened KO for years allowing him to build the business beyond the public gaze.

Now the time has come to get on the front foot and sell the story now that they have finally “Cracked the code” ok 25% cracked but enough to start to build the business up.

The MJF infills might add another 800bopd by end of April too apparently.

As to A9 the decision to go ahead with that in mid 2020 would suggest that A8 is looking good.

Up on a good Alaska report is my guess with a solid write down on Texas to keep the valuation there modest and squeeze the minority partner should they have any loans against their share of that JV.

Not surprising that the accounts are likely to be later than last year. The GB deal now means two subsidiaries at least in Alaska and apparently the Texas acquisitions it’s much more complex.

Pantheon have gone from having a non consolidating minority interest in 2018 to multiple controlling interests that do require consolidation and extensive audit. Sorting out the prior year numbers given Bobby Gray’s death is also likely to be a nightmare.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the AGM doesn’t happen till February.

So the one thing to expect is a higher audit bill!

The irony being at 8p it’s not clear if it’s a buy. But at 16p which would mean the first of the Deeps has arrived it becomes a screaming buy on more to flow.

Caspian just has that ability to torture us!

Sorry Mr C that came out as aggressive and it wasn’t meant to be.

Like many others here Caspian was a 3 to 6 month investment on good news happening and then a sharp revaluation but that was two years ago.

As to it not going passed 10p I have no doubts it will, ok small doubts!

But as to it hitting my £1 target on dozens of producing Deep wells, an expanded shallows cash machine and more good acreage making this a tasty target?

Well Clive’s relentless failure to deliver on his multiple predictions has made me dial back my aspirations some what. But still hopeful or confused? You can decide if you want to.

Woodford never bought anything so normal as Caspian. His tastes were for fusion power to go with his other magnificent non quoted nonsense.

As to Caspian we have as ever a 10 to 20 times leveraged play on the Deeps when and if they arrive with an each way bet on the MJF and other bits like 3A that justify the existing price and provide all the working capital for the Deeps.

What’s not to like at this price?

Indeed there is a history of shallow targets that post the drill turning up cease to be interesting. A little bit of simple transparency “The Shallow target when drilled was not found to be present” would be nice.

Still the main game is the deeps with a strong second string at MJF. What’s not to like?
