Maybe Lilly backing off is for the same reason they declined to take up global rights 2 years ago - they have a competitive product which they plan on launching in China. Alternatively maybe they have a long term plan to exit from China altogether.
Either way, for now I cannot see anything negative in today's news for Chi-Med in the short to medium term.

Roche's tocilizumab is an IL-6 antibody but unlike Tiziana's, it is not fully human. It is on the market however....

This is a significant uplift in the royalties and manufacturing revenues for chi-Med which should be fantastic for the Company's financial position.

Tuesday, July 28, 2020: Hutchison China MediTech Limited (“Chi-Med”) (Nasdaq/AIM: HCM) today announced that the China National Medical Products Administration (“NMPA”) has granted Priority Review status to the New Drug Application (“NDA”) for savolitinib for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (“NSCLC”) with MET Exon 14 skipping mutations. This is the first NDA filing for savolitinib globally and first for a selective MET inhibitor in China.

He confirms the new company will be called Accustem Biosciences (as we all know)

so that is a combined theoretical mcap of $620m at today's valuation, or 310p

also worth noting that most prognostic and diagnostic assets are not held by Pharma's but are instead held by Dagnostic Specialists - Exact Sciences being a good example.

sorry, not wishing to be picky but it is not a diagnostic test, it is a prognostic test. It needs to go through approvals but these types of tests come under the medical devices regimen, and approvals take much less time that new drugs, as they are not subjected to P1, P2, P3 trials

you may well be right bmo3 , but they must be interested in Tiziana's assets and technologies, otherwise there would be no need for an NDA. Crohn's and MS are certainly huge and growing markets, and it is beginning to be a crowded marketplace. Chinese Biotechs like Hengrui are starting to wade in too.....

I agree, as long as the Company is deploying the new capital resources appropriately, which I am sure they are! Cash is needed to progress the pipeline. I suspect this ATM will not be extended, because a licensing deal will be forthcoming with big pharma.

We already know 5 NDA's are in place and big pharma Co's are suggesting/guiding Tiziana on the indications to focus on for Foralumab eg. "go for Crohn's and MS"

And these larger pharmaceutical Co's will not be doing that unless they had a vested interest in it....
