I think the consensus is that if driven by Chinese demand then V price becomes cyclical with the building up and depletion of stock by steel mills. Ultimately this is going to become a bit cat-and-mouse if this is repeated every year, and V producers are likely to be able to take advantage of this on a yearly basis.

I was thinking that BMO coming on board was more likely to be linked to the JSE listing.

Selling £100k of shares at 49p amounts to less than 0.02% of the publicly traded value of the company. Unless a huge swathe of LTHs also plan to cash in at this stage, there is little danger of this being enough to trigger a shorting attack.

My concern would be how some of the significant LTHs plan to dispose of their shares when their own personal targets have been reached.

Thanks for the informative post BBN, much appreciated. Most of the news around Eskom is negative of late, so seeing the finding route laid out and secure as it is is good to see. Fingers crossed we do well in the tendering process (this seems like a bit of a rubber though!)

So where is the balance to be had then? Apparently not in questioning the missed dividend announcement, nor being pessimistic about the V price recovery, or the viability of energy storage projects with Eskom given their ongoing woes. So please, let us know what is and isn't allowed to be discussed.

I see the usual apologists are out in droves today to shoot down anyone who voices disappointment at a target being missed for the second time by the BoD.

So is the worker's incentive/bonus (a) related to production or financial performance (I would assume the former), and therefore (b) why would we expect this to go hand in hand with the dividend policy?

Do we think the workers payments will get its own RNS as this was all tied into the strike of last year, it would be positive to see the resolution to this now?

Not that I intend this to drag out much longer, but until very recently, yes, one of the board's revered regulars was posting quite outlandish exponential SP growth forecasts which included a near-guaranteed £2 by YE2019 alongside those list of theoretical milestones and news flow. This I consider ramping.

Alfa, I promise you I am not accusing the genuine, fact-based research that you or others do as ramping at all. That material is exactly what brought me here a year ago and convinced me to pile everything into BMN.

What I do consider ramping is talk of a £2 SP within months, artificial timescales for news releases that don't materialise on time, etc.

I just find that a little balance is to be had. Endless positivity, and dare I say it, ramping, aren't necessarily positives for the performance of a SP long-term.

No Alfa, I was not aware - where is the RNS for that? Unfortunately the time I can spend researching the company is significantly less than yours so I have to take these things at face value or rely on what is shared here.

Daisydog, I suspected I might, but I'm a big boy now and can take a bit of a bashing! Everyone is lining up to gush over what a fantastic bit of news this is from Fortune and Mikhail, but of course we knew everything newsworthy in this release a couple of months back when Alfa and others visited the site.

You don't think that proposing the company might be lining up storage project customers already is optimistic?

I would guess this is just profit takers or sell orders placed around the 40p mark being triggered. Flush these out and we'll push on through the 40s.

I mean, sure, it's a positive RNS and all, and its very interesting to see the carrot of small scale storage projects opening up by next year, but... Aren't the only two concrete developments here the successful battery commissioning, and the 2T of V being set aside for electrolyte production? I'm on board with the strategy and long term growth, I just still stand by my previous complaints that this update has taken far too long to be released to shareholders and the market at large.

On the optimistic side, perhaps the company was waiting out for some more concrete news on tendering for various projects but these have yet to materialise and they ended up releasing the RNS without them?

Personally can't see a special dividend given how close we are getting to audited full-year results.

A 1p dividend would be a pretty decent return, above inflation at the current SP and a decent earner for us LTHs, even my very modest holding would earn me half a month's wages with that.

There'll be no special dividend now. I feel pretty sure that any payments will be tied into the audited year-end financials.

@Sanchez I hardly think the points I have made qualify as "perpetual moaning" and being annoyed at not having "made my entire fortune". I have been optimistic about the long term prospects of BMN since buying in last May but the shrug of the shoulders we seem to have got when asking for updates from the company is ridiculous. They have self-imposed reporting schedules and planned newsflow and simply not met it - it looks like Q4 BE may not even happen.

The company will never achieve the market value we all believe it ought to have (I'm talking realms of reality, £0.80-1.00 for the minute) if they do not improve their shareholder communication. This is just as true of a company on the FTSE250 as it is on AIM.

I take issue more with the perpetual claims that transformational news is but a day or so away. I've got sick of getting caught up in this hype on this, only to be disappointed when speculative deadlines come and go without a peep from our BoD, the BE Q4 update and Dividend Policy announcement as two prime examples. I've been here about a year and made reasonable profit, imagine if you bought in at 50p off the back of such claims and were now down 30%?
