I cannot make any sense of this. I keep swinging between being totally defeated but also asking myself why it's still trading and why a Nomad took it on if it is as severely crippled as they say.

Given the company employs a significant number of the local population and this impacts also on the employees of local suppliers (cleaners, shops, food supply etc) do you agree that it is in the Gabonese local government's interest for woodbois to succeed?

Does this bring in the prospect of governmental lifeline in the way of financial support ? If private investment can't be achieved ?

Also can you pinpoint when the crisis started. If we could turn back time before Guido's tenure do you agree things were quite stable and optimistic for Woodbois. I have been reading through previous financial records and it indicates that the company actually made an operating profit as recently as 2022.

What is the situation with the 50 year lease and concessions ?

Can someone with a linkedin account ask them how many containers were shipped as alluded to in the post ? Sure looks like more than one to me. This way we can verify Valsen's claims one way or the other.

Valsen, if it is as doom and gloom as you say please answer the following questions:

1. Why was woodbois lifted out of suspension and a new nomad appointed if it was going to fail?

2. Why has a new CEO been appointed and more importantly a respected NOMAD took this on if what half of you say is true? The NOMAD is actually the actor who has appointed the new CEO funnily enough, perhaps they know him as the man to turn this around with his background in corporate finance.

3. How do you explain today's linkedin post and verified activity that there are still over 100 labourers working for woodbois daily?

4. Why is woodbois still trading if it as dire as you say it is?

5. Why did Skyrme and Rhino declare their holdings?

6. Why do the company continue to allude to future plans and optimis in its RNS? If the goal was to rinse shareholders there's nothing left to rinse at 0.05.

There are some posters here who are determined to see woodbois fail. Perhaps they are shorters, crisis traders, disgruntled former employees or even competitors. Whatever the motive is, it's not altruistic.

All we can do is wait on more updates. There is definitely a boatload of fake news here.

If the finance issues are resolved I'm sure this will be rebound. Too many vested interests of it to fail, the local Gabonese governance hardly wants a company employing 100+ people to fail.

I have faith that Kanme has been brought in to steady the ship after the disastrous Guido tenure. Valsen and Sarah, do you accept that the company was at a reasonable footing prior to Guido? Why can it not be possible for someone with experience and knowhow to turn this around ? After all the forestry concessions which woodbois have are extremely valuable - no one can deny that. It's just about getting the right people and structure in place.

Pretty sure Lucas Kanme has been appointed due to his background in corporate finance to undo the mess of the last 12 months. Creditors just lost patience with the Guido era and lack of professionalism and communication. I am really optimistic now after this linkedin evidence. Doesn't look like a company on the brink of collapse to me. Henriquet has been brought in for a reason.

Think way too much fear mongering and panic and overselling here.

The biggest thing for me is - why is if it as bad as Sarah etc are suggesting is it still trading? Why effort to secure a new nomad?

I must be crazy but I'm thinking of loading up again. Seems way oversold and worth the risk at these prices. I do have confidence if it was going bust it would have done so already.

Ok the initial panic has subsided somewhat. I must admit when RNS dropped and we were down 52% on the day I thought it was well and truly game over. Crazy because we were actually 15% up at some point this morning to prior to RNS. I will try to give a balanced view.

Negatives

1. RNS is very alarming and confirms major cash problems at woodbois - this is not really new news. We know the company had been pretty awfully mismanaged last year.

2. Market has reacted with disgust

3. Doesn't seem to be a clear leadership and lack of communication or presentation of facts as of late. No transparency whatsoever.

On the other hand still some things to be optimistic about

1. Why has it not been suspended yet ?

2. Why did NOMAD Allenby take it out of suspension and not just let it die then? (Shareholder lobby?)

3. Work to appoint a new CEO with expertise in corporate finance

4. RNS clearly states they are hoping to resolve the issues and there is no indication of dissolving. Indeed they place an emphasis on a good outcome for all and allude to local woodbois employees. This suggests efforts and a goodwill exists to resolve this situation. It would be easy for them to just throw in the towel and give up at this point.

What's clear is we do need some major line of credit or investor, I am hoping that someone will come out of the shadows and undo the wrongs of the Guido tenure. Things were never as bad or as critical as this until Guido was appointed, it was a decent company for 19 years with a positive outlook albeit some reduction in share value post COVID.

I wish I'd never invested, bloody motleyfool, never reading their garbage again. At this point I have already lost so much there's no point in selling, I will go down with the ship and so be it. No more AIM investment for me. Even if this somehow turns around now it's not been worth the rollercoaster and emotional strain.

Good luck all. I did think it was curtains after the RNS dropped but the ship has steadied somewhat.

Looks like Mr Kanme has officially passed the due diligence and has been declared director officially by the Nomad. I suspect an announcement of a team soon. This looks overwhelmingly positive news. This occurred on 30th Jan so very recently.

Amy what's worrying me is that there doesn't actually seem to be anyone running the ship at the moment. Our best hope is that some stakeholders from the past rekindle their passion for woodbois - Pelham, Tierney, Rothschild etc. for our sake I hope that's what's going on behind the scenes. Guido left a mess with a 90% collapse under his tenure.

I researched the AGM from 2023 and it was all very positive and professional at that time, none of the 4 people on that AGM call are left at woodbois as far as I'm aware? Guido, Geddes, Roberts and Rothschild? That's very concerning that all 4 of the leaders seem to have abandoned shop.

Has anyone tried reaching out to people on linkedin associated with woodbois? Nothing on website is responsive.

Why can we not find anything whatsoever about Lucas Kanme if he is a successful businessman and financier? Everyone I know is on Google in some form, even if it's just for winning the local pub quiz of darts tournament. For there to be absolutely nothing about this guy gets my alarm bells going.

We need positive tangible news asap because this stinks at the moment. What's reassuring me is that the Nomad took this on and wouldn't have done so without reason. My inclination is that some sort of takeover or merger could be in the works. I can't understand why so much effort was invested to save the company when it was delisted if they were just going to let it die months later. Take away all the BS and one can envision a path to major ethical success with this business concept, just requires proper management and implementation.

BreakingNews I found multiple errors and fake news in the document you posted previously re witness statement (which in my opinion shouldn't be posted publically to begin with).

For example

1) blatant mistake referring to "Africa" as a country.

2) name was given as Guido Theuns instead of a full proper name which would be required on an official document (middle name included)

3) generic Gmail email provider for Guido

4) document looks like it was made in chatgpt format
