I reviewed the trade log, and there was a lot of large buys today. Systematically buying between 5000 and 20000 shares - 30k to 200k. several an hour. Somebody was loading up. Based on my experience of reviewing the log each night, i would say there was more slightly buying than normal. That is reflected in the larger than average volume shown on this site today.
There were at least 9 each over 10000 shares.

No spot gold forum on LSE, but I read CEY and HUM. A few great contributors on those boards talking about gold.
Im watching a lot of Youtube too, Kitco, Rick rule...TheGoldAndSilverClub.
TradingView website has a bit of gold, but i think its futures.

OMFG. I just popped by to read the comments. 10% was made at NCYT today. Gold miners rising 2 or 3 per day..
I cant understand how anyone could have more than 10% of their pot in GDR. The mentality of the RNS and the huge spike, its just not going to happen. If you need 50p or more to break even, then you should move some money out of here and put it in to something that is appreciating. If the SP drops to 45p then that is another 10% you will have lost. Wow.

This dog is lame, and it needs shooting before any more vet bills.

on a separate note, my feeling is that there is a short going on at the moment, load up, load up.

Having analysed the log today, there were 3 x 3 million trades. The trades are flagged as not contributing to the price, so although they took place in the day they should not have affected the price. Hard to say whether a buy or sell, but each trade went through at £207.8.
The rest of the day was 95% algorithmic trading, so the price is being heavily manipulated. Cant tell which way it is being pushed, could be multiple outfits each with their own agenda.

10 million is another 2%. of the total shares.

Yes, fancy that. People invested in gold miners being bullish about gold.

I think Munchbox has a point. I bought in here in September, when the EP was due to be awarded 'any day'. And they were on track for first gold pour by end of the year. I don't buy the Covid excuse, to issue a piece of paper. However, I cant see how the delays are in anyone's interest. Just as OP says, something is not right here. I'm still holding here, but only at speculative punt money. Not impressed so far.

Exactly, it was called a placing, and had the same effect on the SP, but without the downside. I see a quick 10% here.

I bought some more this morning, 200.49. Very happy with that, I'm sure it will be in profit by Monday.
Incidentally, I was partly inspired by this interview with a guy called TopInfo - he likes to buy a placing. It makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Wonder if he has bought here?

I remember buying in in February at 27p. Back then, HUM was going to be debt free next quarter, and the SP was due for a substantial rerate. So, 10 months on and the SP back at entry level, Still not debt free, ok they have some other projects but the company seems to be forever up against some crisis. The interview today was like a press conference from some football team fighting relegation every match. The players did well, but it was the ref, the ball, the grass...

I entirely agree with the comment that they do not have shareholders interests close to mind.
Other than getting the next mine going, what's the road map/ long term investment case?

I too will be glad to sell out next rise. I have had great returns (in SP and dividends) from other miners and PM's over that time.
Hum might be worth a look in 24 months? But in the mean time, its not worth risking my money here.

The RNS was dropped after hours.
I was considering selling out yesterday and today, just because there seemed to be a lot of selling. I did not in the end, hoping the run may go on a little longer. I think that is highly unlikely now.

The seller is a billionaire. I just cant see how he needs the money. It says in the RNS about other investments. That is very telling, he obviously must feel there are better investments elsewhere. He should know better than anyone the prospects for the mine, although it sounds like he doesn't get involved in the day to day running.

Anyone fancy guessing the placing price? I'm thinking £2.05 as a pure guess. That will put me in the red.

Large trades are always printed delayed. From memory I think it is 6 x market size counts as large.
Because of this, the trade log is then jumbled up.
Because of this the algorithm on this site does not work.
Some large trades print the next day, which messes up the algorithm even more.
Factor in block trades, icebergs etc. Not worth paying much attention to a single trade without the context of everything else.

It would really help if you were developing your own software to analyse the trade log, and spending night after night reading about SETS and L2 data. :)

Also looks like the data feed is down again to this site, so volume Buy / Sell now also wrong.

No one is rigging the game you are playing, but you are playing a game with rules not set in your favour.

I analyse trade logs each night (for NCYT). A large trade like this is meaning less and totally out of context.
Yesterday there was a lot of selling at the 20 - 30k mark all day, in fact the trade log was the largest one I have analysed so far.
There were a few large buys, but felt the sells out weighed the buys hence the price drop.

People on here saying it is PI's selling. Didnt look like that to me.

xvery.. Yes thanks, I can see them on there too. These should be printed in the trade log, just have to wait for them to be published. Shows that Investing.com provides a better source of data than Barchart, although I cant tolerate the adds on Investing.com.

The twitter post claims 6 large buys over 100k. Firstly my chart at Barchart.com does not show this.
Secondly, after downloading the trade logs - at present - they are not showing there either. Best I can see so far is 2 x 100k trades at about 8.40am, which corresponds to the volume shown on Barchart.com.

Possible that these trades show up later and the twitter poster has better data than I do, but also possible that the information is incorrect.
