22.60 on the nas' 1.70 plus, tomorrow. Slowly, but surely.

Up & down is ok , as long as it goes up, more than down, I think 162.90 was the bottom, so up 6p at 168.90 is ok & a steady rise from now on looks likely. very likely.

Can I ask if you topped up at all at these recent low sp levels for vod? 7.5% divi.

Pokerchips, are you worried about the vod divi cover & the glaxo cover. As you say the glaxo divi is covered by free cash flow, but that doesn't mean it can definitely afford it, does it?

So often we hear the polarized opinion of whether the very high divi is paid from debt, or free cash flow. I am very positive about the future vod sp, but I am worried about this black or white view.. Surely if vods dept is more than the free cash flow, then vod is in dept. If I have £ 1,000,000 in the bank (free cash flow) but have depts of £2,000,000, I am in dept. So when someone says the divi is paid from dept, why disagree? Perhaps it is good to pay the divi from dept, (gearing) . Don't just disagree for the sake of it, you just feed there negative opinion. Vod could pay off some of its dept instead of paying a divi, but it chooses not to , which may be a very good business decision, but this means it is effectively paying the divi from dept.

Tax man.. I meant the 1/2% stamp duty that we all have to pay to buy, & dealing charges on top. but to say its easy to buy & sell at 5 to 6 % profit all the time is crazy, otherwise we would all be very rich. perhaps you have just been lucky, so happy days.

Buying & selling rungs. Are you actually buying the shares, & paying stamp duty & commission & then selling them, or are you spread betting or doing cfd,s. If you are buying & selling, then surely the costs will be more than your gains in the long run. If you are making money then good on you, but I think the only one's making money are the tax man, & the stock broker. Of course if you can predict accurate vod sp movements of 4p, then you will make about 2.5 to 3p per share after costs, but how do you know? If you get it right 50% of the time, (average) you will only gain about 2.5 to 3p for every 4p you lose.

If anybody believes in after hours trading, then have a look at vod on the nasdaq, up over 4%. Probably a load of rubbish, but we live in hope.

Dividends come out free cash flow, but if the divi is not covered by profits, then the free cash flow will diminish unless it can be topped up by profits being higher than the divi. I think the vod sp is underpriced, but this obsession with paying a divi that may not be affordable in the long run worries me. The only posters who took this onboard were the very arrogant moniman or the village idiot Last Call,( not such an idiot now perhaps) As moniman said, if you can get 7% return on an investment & your stake wont fall, or it may perhaps rise, everybody & there dog would be buying, but they are not. Any sensible answers would be welcome.

I am no expert here, but do we judge vod on charts, or something else?. Any sensible answers would be welcome! The only way charts work, is by self prophecy.
