Hi CSDI. Vod shares are traded automatically, its called SETS. & the spread is very , very small. The main cost is stamp duty, & broker fees, nothing to do with MM's, which is why I don't believe in short term trading or penny shares/aim market. Unless of course I know I am on a winner. Which is never. Dealing costs are a big problem if you own shares in lots of company's or drip feed your money in. Much safer of course, but safety costs money. M.M's are just doing a job like anybody else & they are needed when there is not a lot of shares being bought & sold, as you need a very big market for any automatic trading system to work, as with most ftse100 company's. As for brexit, your other 1/2 might say, we are either better off, worse off, or stay the same. Who knows what the deal makers will come up with, fingers crossed, & hope for the best. It's mostly bluff I think.
