compound. Very interesting post. No disrespect to fleccy, but I feel that he is just lifting stuff, as opposed to you, explaining it. What I worry about though is the implication of share buy backs, in that, is it in the interest of vodafone to keep the sp low? I don't think many shareholders would be happy with that. If the sp is being kept falsely low to save vod money repaying the deb't, do you think in the long term, vod shares are undervalued? Also if vod continues to issue bonds, will the true vod sp ever be realised?

Surely the point here is vod borrow money through bonds to invest, & hopefully make enough to pay back the bonds & buy back shares to prevent dilution, with profit left over. It's a gamble of course.

Fleccy. If I owned 130 thousand shares in vod paying £2 a share & the sp fell to 1.23, & I buy 30 thousand more, I am far worse off than if the shares hadn't fallen in the 1st place. A falling share price is never good for a holder of those shares. Also vod has bought back many shares at a above todays price. Of course if the sp goes back to £2 (by Christmas)!! Then I will be better off. A big but though, So come on santa?! But yes I think 1.23 is a bargain, so fill your boots before the sp takes off again.

Hello sidi. 1st off , I think we should all have a spelling amnesty, as long as we understand what is being said. Hello s.i.d.i. I hope you don't mind me butting in on your post to fleccy, but why would people sell at 1.32 yesterday, when they could have sold at 1.40 on may 17th? I think you should all invest in my new company called, crystal Balls R Us?

It is strange how the fall is more than the divi, but currently by less than a 1p. Perhaps there are many out there who still think the divi is a free bee, so sell, not realising it will come out of the sp. Why sell before the divi is a very common attitude. fleccy. If vod closes tomorrow at todays price I will be very happy, & would buy you a drink!! The reason I say vod is high risk, is because there are many risks involved in being highly geared, heavily in debt, but I think the risks are worth taking. I am sorry, but I have a serious problem with some who think that investing is a one way bet, with no risks involved & ignore any sensible negative opinions. I am very positive about vod, but I don't have my head in the sand, I except the risks.

Sorry,premature post, Perhaps bailing out now would be a mistake. Sell high, buy low? Easier said than done perhaps, but I think to sell now would be a mistake. As for better investments, I am all ears? No good though using hindsight.

robleo. I get your concern, I could refer to to my post about vod being a gamble, & if you really want me to scare you, I have read that vod has a 48% of going bankrupt . It doesn't mean going bust though, just in trouble with deb't. So why am i so bullish? because if vod can pull this around, (increase profit% more than it's debt) at 1.30 the shares are way undervalued, I think even mole-man would agree with me on that? Vod shares are a high risk gamble. Of course if vod just plods along without reducing it's divi, it may become like a pension annuity, returning 6% until it becomes worthless.
