Although it often hasn't been the case in the past,at the current sp, anybody holding vod since the day before ex divi date on the 25 nov., will be 5p per share in profit including the divi, So not bad. It's always nice to be able to bank the divi, without losing money on the share price. Let's hope this continues in future? Looks like the U.S. was closed today, which prompted me to have a dream?

Hi compound. Ok I shall re phrase that to, "Most people don't want to be proved wrong about something they want to happen" If I said vod shares will fall, of course I would want to be proven wrong, but I wouldn't say it. I don't think vod shares will end up tomorrow above £1.60. but of course I would love to be proved wrong, but of course I wouldn't make such a daft prediction. Anyway good luck with your predictions which are not too unrealistic?

Most people like to be proved right, I don't think I have ever known anybody who likes to be proved wrong? It takes all types I guess? A nice small late recovery, could have been better, but not bad eh? A positive Mikey? Now that would be something? Still, stranger things happen?? I suspect a positive Mikey, is a quiet Mikey. I don't think there was an argument between narcus & robina, at least not until Gary got involved. The fact is that the vod s/p will always fall on ex divi by the amount of the divi plus or minus the underlying share price movement. On pay day however the sp will stay the same plus or minus any underlying share price movement. So if the divi is 4p but the underlying price movement on ex divi day is up 2p, then the days fall would be 2p. On payday the sp will of course just move up or down as on any other day. Some might argue the sp may go up after pay day due to re investment of divi's but I don't know if that tends to happen or not. I was simply defending nascus for his factual comments. I haven't often agreed with narcus in the past, but on this occasion he was right, although perhaps rude.

Gary. Narcus might be rude but he is right in what he says. The sp goes down on ex divi date, on payment date it may go down or up. Better to rude & right, than wrong & polite. Poetry. It think it is time you stopped apologising for others.

compound. If the sp went up 2% every day for the next 6 months, but then fell back a bit, there are some who would still complain? If I do top up again, it wont be until the new I.S.A. year, but I hope the price will be much higher by then, if so, then I probably won't top up.

Some on here often complain about the vod sp going down, but the B.T. sp going up. Over the last month vod is up 3.1% & B.T. up 2%. So isn't this just another example of complaining for the sake of it? Vod has had a good run lately, let's just hope it continues. & for fleccy's sake, I hope they both go up.
