Valid points you are making. It is prudent to temper expectations with regards to any immediate FiD related rise in RKH share price. Given the history of disappointments there will likely be a number of shareholder who will looking at selling into a 20-30% rise which may initially dampen the share price reaction. Should this happen, this will be the time for me to load up.

I would argue though, that RKH should be a more leveraged play compared to your examples given the significantly better fiscal environment compared to the North Sea operations. FID unlocks a bigger price for RKH in Falklands compared to a similar field almost everywhere else..

TCM, or perhaps Navitas have a broader view and need to consider future partnerships. If they were to screw RKH and their shareholders over, that might be detriment to negotiations with future partners I would imagine

At 3:30 did she just say that the EIS was approved last week?

At least we are now having the glass-half-empty guys warn us that the massive income we stand to earn will initially be spend on paying off debt. This is a refreshing departure from the million reasons we have had over the years why sealion will never happen.

I’m no accountant, but regardless of the contractual agreement, it seems good business to pay off a loan as quick as possible, when you are generating massive profits for years to come rather than keeping it on your balance sheet and pay interest.

TCM, lecture us mere mortals all you want about accounting principles and feel smug about your insults. There has always been posters like you around with an agenda of subtle deramps, petty bullying and a rather unpleasant personality. They come and go and no one really cares. There is clearly nothing for you to learn here, so perhaps you’d be better off finding a forum that better match your superior intellect?

good post, where do you get the 45.000 BO/D plateau rate from? It explicitly states phase 1 “starting with 45.000 Bo/d”. Ofcourse if the rig is limited to 45, then that makes sense to conclude that, but it reads to me that a higher output is expected.

Also, interesting to note the “FID ready” comment under the sealion overview on page 7

SH’s calculation seem right to me. Even if 85% of the the initial profit is used to pay off whatever debt might be owed to Navitas at that point, it still illustrates why most of us are invested here. That debt will be paid off in no time and then RKH is basically a debt free money printing machine. Now add an industry average P/E ratio to that and the share price is bonkers.

The excact quote from Presentation is “starting at 45.000 barrels Per day” for Phase 1.

Reading the presentation it seems clear to me that the moment EIS and FDP is approved by FIG, financing and FID will be announced and an avalanche of news will follow in short order. They have just reiterated first oil by end of 2026, and I refuse to believe they would state that unless everything was lined up. If there was uncertainty about whether they can raise the capital needed or whether they can find a suitable rig etc they would look foolish to put themselves under such tight timeline.

They are saying we will be pumping oil on 30 month from today!!

I guess it can’t hurt that the Rus supposedly have found the the motherload in the vicinity. With a ban on drilling for oil in the Antarctic, it may entice big oil to take a closer look at the region
