Portland121 good Post, I'm with you on that travel from July!! Airlines need notice to get their operations going again. I think vaccine passports will have to be used widely of some kind so people can enter and exit countries safely in conjunction with wide-spread testing. Interesting airline stocks holding up well today. Mmmmm...

Good post invrstinvalue, I looked at those sectors totally beaten up and hasn't recovered in Oct and Nov focusing on travel, tourism and leisure. Just wish I had dry powder now as further growth coming in these sectors hopefully after Monday.

Agree with you DubleD, I think maybe a review following Monday in 3 weeks but I'm hoping something announced.

Agreed FTSE12 will drive sentiment for the week ahead. Holding firm here going to be a very interesting few days ahead. All travel stocks doing well. The airlines will fly if there is a clear vision ahead which shows clear skies.

All the CEOs of the main airlines have written on a letter to the PM asking for a clear plan for aviation, I'm certain he surely won't go in front of the cameras with no update!! Surely the public kicking the door down for holidays abroad, he is going to have to come to the table with something. We will see!!

I agree scoupusave, there needs to be a clear road map subject to levels of covid and mortality rates been met. Otherwise there needs to be further financial support to the airlines. I think Easter is definitely off the table for me I still think targeting school summer holidays in July. Going to be very interesting on Monday and depending on what is said and just as important what isn't said will drive momentum here one way or the other. Boris under enormous pressure to have a clear plan an exit out of lockdown and route back to normality. Everyone needs it now!!

Sold a small portion here now at 155 and into Cine. If that bounces up quicker and we drop down to 145 or slightly lower will buy back. Slightly nervous will there be an announcement on aviation on Monday, surely there must be?

In here again just now at 77.6, hoping for a climb back upwards, made a few quid here on the dips last time.

My guess the PM will schedule in more regular reviews perhaps every 3 weeks and then option to change direction if particular metrics are met!!

Big blue, a tough one to call!! Either way If there is a drop, you don't lose until you sell. Hopefully positive news on Monday, I'm still debating to take out some to hold as dry powder. I'm still of the view travel will open by July for international travel. If not, there will need to be extra support measures in place for the aviation industry, in addition to the current measures. I've got a sizeable chunk invested here but covered with good profit made elsewhere, nevertheless I don't want to lose my money here. I personally don't think I will and I'm relatively relaxed, when this comes off suspension it wouldn't surprise me if some very good RNSes come out in addition to the one notifying recommending trading and the SP here goes through the roof!! Thanks Tradingplaces, I'm confident of a recovery and doubling the current SP but will take time. Its for me more when there is a rise pulling some out to have as dry powder to put back in on a drop or a different stock going up quicker in the short term. Short term here the key points now:
1. What Boris says or doesn't say about travel on Monday.
2. The current rates of covid and any new variants coming out.
3. Results of IAG and what is the daily rate of cashback.
4. General sentiment of the wider market.

Going to be an interesting few weeks ahead.

Good post Sunsurfer, I was toying with idea of selling my holding here, but I did a mixture of day trading and making money on other stock to average down from a huge loss. Breakeven for me is 169 still so still with a loss I want to be in profit to sell off some unless I feel other stocks going up quicker. Its a tricky one!! Interesting reading the different strategies people follow. Currently I'm heavily invested in travel and tourism covering NEX, GOG, TUI, SAGA, IAG, EZJ. WIZZ. Although high risk, I remain confident of a recovery, with the exception of being down in IAG and SAGA, I timed the market well buying in Oct. IAG will definitely return and I think when there is a clearer path out of these turbulent skies, IAG SP will take off and I think be one of the biggest recovery plays on the FTSE100. It will be interesting to see, I've holding a large chunk here but remain confident for a long term hold. GL All what ever strategies you take and be lucky!!

I think if travel is mentioned on Monday and what is leaked in papers is then supported by Boris on Monday, this will continue upwards. Even if cases numbers continue to fall and go under 1000, we should hit that target by summer if there is expectation that we then come out of lockdown fully. A clear road map, we should then start to fly here literally. I'm hoping for a quick rise here to then top slice and get into some other stocks, before they go up too much. Timing is key with all of this!!

GB46, so it will be interesting what other countries are saying. I think the vaccine passports then come into play. I personally cannot see international tourism not opening up in a number of countries, assuming they get their own population largely vaccinated. Life has to return or start to return back to normal at some stage.
