Totally forgot about the shorts elders, probably a combination of that with wider market fears of interest rat rises causing the sell off. I cant see these going below £2 with so much good news coming. Huge pent up demand, the world has to get moving again, countries open up again, I'm confident this will rise next week and start the journey to £2.50+.

Best Post I read in a longtime, I believe this company will deliver big and will be a great longterm hold!! The risk we get bought out, even still for Alister to sell, surely £35+ a share given the enormous potential pipeline in the offering. GL All exciting times!!

If I sell some at a loss its normally only a small loss and funds used to top up in another stock that has dropped more in the same day in percentage terms. I either average down or play this strategy of buying into the stocks that have seen big drops as long as I believe in those stocks. Its worked for me so far however I've often got it wrong when I day trade. Far easier to just buy and hold longterm. However if a stock is seriously at risk of delusions then yes pull out!! I did that with Fjet but did recoup money elsewhere. GL All.

Teddy100 not sure I agree with you entirely on price but I think your right it should bounce back. Agree with what others were saying quite a few of the airlines and travel stocks took a hit where I'm mostly invested but I remain confident for a resumption of recovery next week. As long as continued vaccine role out, schools reopen successfully and no surprise news to come left field, expect a good pick up on Mon or Tue next week. The trick is not to panic, we are in a very different place to a year ago, there is a way out countries are starting to state we can fly to them in the summer such as Spain and Cyprus in recent days, I'm sure others will join the list soon. One of the reasons I think a lot of people putting into oils and building stocks yesterday. Also taking profits, this should rise again next week. A small top up for me at 210. Lots of stocks down today mostly in travel and tourism sectors. I'm holding firm, they will bounce back. We're getting nearer to things opening up and travel recommending so we will bounce back no worries. You only lose when you sell at a loss. GL All!!

Any investor should always know that investing is a huge risk, but can be very rewarding too of you time the market right. I've lost money over the years and was down considerably here even, until I decided to average down. To me its obvious people will fly again, the world isn't going to end anytime soon so there was always a recovery on the cards!!! Trsvel and leisure stocks seemed to be the last areas to recover so for me I targeted these areas last Oct for a decent recover which is paying off. There will still be bumps in the road of course, but I remain confident and others should too that investing in IAG will certainly be rewarding financially in the days, months and years ahead. If your prepared to take risks, you will do well. As a long term hold I personally believe investing here is a safe bet!! GL All!!!

If anything once rights issue completes SP should go up as well financed. I intend to take my full rights. Longterm holders here will be fine.

I see both sides of the argument on vaccine passports, but surely if other countries in mass are insisting on this then the UK will have to follow? We need highly effective rapid testing deployed at the airport giving results in minutes. Will be an interesting debate. I think a slight retrace today and then upwards again as we move towards summer. Too much good news out there at the moment, but with the markets it only takes one bit of bad news to change that. An interesting day on the markets may be a dip tomorrow with profit taking but onwards and upwards. The nearer we get to travel plan reviews in April, continual decrease in Covid cases, increase in population getting vaccinated and nearer coming out of lockdown, the more this will rise. Once US opens up and particularly Lon - New York route, then the SP here will really motor and although markets look ahead, I think when proper schedules come in and pax commence flying in decent numbers, the SP will motor towards £3 mark in my opinion. GL All, I'm holding firm for long term hold.

IAG took the opportunity to trim their costs e.g. cutting legacy contracts during the pandemic and putting new staff and some existing on less favourable terms. This will drive substantial cost savings in the years ahead. A trimmer airline, more fuel efficient aircraft, final salary pension scheme closed, acquiring Air Europa at a reduced price increasing its presence at Madrid and South American markets. I personally believe this will be one of the best risers on the FTSE100. It will take a few years to recover of course but when it does, should sail past previous highs. Covid took out some of our competitors , I wouldn't be surprised to see £10+ in a few years time!! GL All!@

Extension of furlough will certainly tick up the price. Winter behind us as we head towards coming out of lockdown and a day nearer the travel task force announcements in April I can see this steadily rising now towards £2.50 mark.

Not sure if it will open by May, but assuming large numbers of people vaccinated in the US, I would have thought by June or July at the latest.

Good shout Agentb, I topped up yesterday at 199. Higher than I wanted but I think my investment here is relatively safe and going to be a good one!! My average is 156, will hold these until we're either bought out or hopefully selling past £25+. GL All!!

This will do well today, as we enter spring, light at the end of the tunnel, airlines starting to bring back staff, I can see this heading towards 220 mark I reckon and end the day between 210 - 215. GL All

Sunsurfer@ Any travel stocks such as TUI, EZJ, SAGA, WIZZ will all do very well as we come out of the current pandemic and back to normality. Also check GOG, NEX all good companies and will do well!!

Anapa69, there is I would say almost certain this company won't go bust!! They have more liquidity now compared to the start of the pandemic. One of the best run airline groups in the world. Not only will they survive, they will be trimmer, less competition and leaner structure, will take a few years but IAG will do very very well in the longterm and turn the pandemic into an opportunity to grow and proper very well indeed!!
