Mcsquares, thanks for that. No, i wasn’t talking about the rules of takeover, just patterns. In the way that some investors ‘double-up’ maybe a takeover is more likely to happen at a higher price than lower price as a higher price indicates ‘X amount’ of progress, ie enough to warrant a takeover. Perhaps there’s a common pattern.

I have been trying to find a chart for Prometheus (lowest share price V’s offer price; was it bought out?) as that company is often mentioned here but I haven’t managed it this morning.

(How some people could think posing this query is deramping in any shape or form is a bet weird if you ask me.)

LDA; I’m writing on a small Iphone, not easy to make my point clear. One last go.

AVCT SP will rise in anticipation of a bid for it. By how much will the sp have to rise before we can be really sure it’s, a bid from BF, is imminent. I was wondering whether multiples of the low point in sp could be an indicator as AVCT seem to have put that point behind them. As data comes in, Sp will rise, takeover becomes more likely. Perhaps the rise needs to get to a certain multiple of the low point and there might be historic precedents to be found.

Some posters aren’t prepared to consider this idea as it came from me.

Ben doesn’t think buy out price is anything to do with the lowest point in the sp. That’s fine. I was only asking the question. I don’t know the answer.

Perhaps someone will be willing to make a helpful contribution in reply in the morning.

If a sp climbs from a low point - looking at precedents - then perhaps that could translate to a ‘golden band’ of sp / multiples of the low price ie when the so has already climbed on a multitude of factors. Putting it another way, AVCT is still far too cheap atm. It will get to a much higher price before BF will start to bite cos they are waiting for factors to come together in the form of a higher sp.

Ps Recent broker note suggested $8 for $in a year so 16 times low point. And I’m not sure that’s without T/O. So 16 times 30 without a takeover would be de ramping AVCT in your book would it?

And I used to think W2 had a poor record on posting acumen .

As ever, people are as far from the truth as ever.

$TLSA have 5 bagged if you bought at the low point, which I didn’t.

If big pharma buy at 15* the low price then I would perhaps wonder whether AVCT will go for 15 * their low point, and so-on. Since people here are always saying some company has been bought for £XBn I also wonder whether that could give an insight to AVCT. So, if anything, I thought I might be ramping.

Since you are so wrong on so many points , why would one listen to you particular guys?

Question for those who have studied previous takeovers of AIM based pharma companies; I wonder if there is a correlation between low point sp and the amount it rises before a buy out usually takes place.

I mentioned $TLSA on here a few weeks ago. It’s gone to around $2.50 after being below 0.50. No takeover offer yet. That sort of rise with AVCT would put the sp at… 150p from the low.

Hope that makes sense. In my phone and on hols so probably not the most articulate point I’ve tried to make.

There are other studies that disagree. My grandma lived till 91 and was a bit plump. Basically, I don't think people know the truth and it might vary for different ethnic groups.

Sugar rots your teeth and is high calorie but if you don't eat too many calories overall and brush your teeth you should be ok..
