Two late buys at 16.29 show someone prepared to expect ‘the best’.

I'm not aware of any TV advertising campaign so far in 2022. We did win some half-price advertising on channel 4 but I don't think they've used it.

Since TV is where a lot of the cash goes – when they are paying for ads to be made and then airing them – I wouldn't be surprised if the cash bank balance is higher tomorrow.

Basically I'll be holding. My last (modest amount) top up was money intended to pay towards a mortgage and so I thought I'd buy eve for a few weeks and sell on the rise this week. Not sure that will happen now but it might.

It's just a gamble for tomorrow but long term I don't see us going bust (with CC in charge) which is my biggest fear.

I am not trying to draw any comfort from the situation where children are dying through dehydration in Mariupol. Just pointing out that, if we aren't going to have a booming economy in the next year or so and lifting us that way, there are still reasons why people will need mattresses and bedding.

You might have a point tiger but there's always an 'on the other hand'.

On the other hand people in work for the last couple of years have carried on earning their full salary, not eaten out so much, and not spent £1000's on far-flung holidays. Some people have a lot of money in their savings and sleeping on an uncomfortable bed and mattress is not something they'll put up with.

I don't know what will happen. In a sense we've never been in a better position; our own direct sales, then bricks and mortar with Next, Dunelm, Argos and now DFS; + Olivier DesF en France.

Eve are not being shy. Another presentation when they could just keep their heads down. You could read that either way of course.

Also, with a day of trading to go, things might perk up tomorrow.

Probably an oversight that they didn't give more notice. I suppose there's a slim possibility they've only decided to have a meeting at the last minute?

Toatie, That seems an excellent point but not getting much response here. Either they are super-honest Directors or they are still not sure how AVA6000 is performing themselves.

Let's hope it's the 'super-honest' option. They didn't buy when the AffiDX was supposed to be best in class so maybe they just felt they had enough exposure?

Just relying on the LSE Director Deals button on here but T Nicols sold and bought on the same day (switching accounts for tax?) and they were placing shares at 17p from the previous month.

Forgive 'subtle cross-ramp' but I have a much higher % of my PF invested in a company run by a woman CEO because she's the only one seems to tell the truth almost all the time.

I am heartened by Christina Coughlin's appointment for that reason, even though I know very little about her.

And "The Best People" were 100% white, male, straight – obviously.

I think the bump began this morning. +16.82%

It has not stuck in the past and many people have been spiked.

They could have announced (today) that results are to be next week. In fact they could've done the same last Thursday and it wouldn't have looked odd.

My theory, ever the optimist: If DFS was disappointing in the first ... 7 to 10 days, they could have announced last year's figures and said 'too early to draw any conclusions from DFS as it's only been live a few days. Wait till June.'

So the fact that the announcement is later than usual implies the possibility that DFS is actually going OK (or better-than-ok) and they want the maximum data to announce as late as possible in March.

DFS is the biggest 'thing' at the moment and it's happened at the same time as a slight change in the usual pattern of announcements.

Maybe the market is thinking the same?
