Thanks for that wyn. I had Boo for a short time (think I lost a small amount, from memory) but had followed your input for a while afterwards. You did well to get out. I assume it will come back but not in the near future.
From the media it does seem very gloomy doesn't it, in retail and the larger world. Interesting also that you use stop losses on AIM shares. I used to but got caught out and so ceased using them, more or less. However, I was – for a long time – 'up' in SNG so I tried to protect my 'profit' with a stop at around 150p. And then disaster happened. I managed to cancel the stop before it went through, when the sp was down in the 20's. On the BB people were saying that theirs finally kicked-in at 11p. Even though it was still a disaster I'm 100% 'up' against selling for 11p.
I haven't sold any eve. My rationale is that they 'only' have to show they are capable of making a profit and the sp will rise sharply. Even if the cash diminishes first, if they can get profitable it would not be crucial (obviously cash in the bank is helpful..) to be close to zero if the brand looks to be out of danger and heading to growth. Rather the opposite of the low sp when there was £10m in the bank, but a huge trading loss.
I know that family-geeman are in a fortunate position but we are - so far - largely unaffected by the economic situation (Sainsburys still send us vouchers for £15 off a £75 shop, savings in the bank, and the fuel consumption at home is reducing with the arrival of milder weather.) There must be many people who still have savings from lockdown. Obviously a lot of people are much worse off atm but they were perhaps not the people eve are aiming at. I am down on my shares quite a bit now but not crystallised the loss and won't be doing so.
As a family and as a bulletin board we are probably the demographic that eve target. There must be many people like us who will still buy their products. TP clearly shows that reviews are down (sales down I believe too) but if marketing is reduced and profits are likely, then the sp could well improve, or even a takeover could become *more* likely because the sp is low but green pastures lie ahead...
I'm losing the thread as chores call but you get the picture I paint myself..
