The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Howezap, if the resources had been spent looking for the crown of Ascot....doen't that mean that we would have two high grade parcels - admittedly a few km away from each other? Yes, people keep telling me that I'm missing the point but I'd rather have those two 'crowns' than a failed bridge.
Howezap: yes, i understand they wanted to join them up but it seemed to me that that pipedream quickly faded. Two close by porphyries seemed like a good consolation. If the extra time and resources had been invested in finding the crown of Ascot we may well be talking about BR having 1.5 or 1.6 MT of inferred copper. Still, water under the bridge.
Jezzoo, assuming we are in a good financial place, I would not mind some drilling to firm up Ascot which was pretty well ignored in the report that put the dampers on BR. We never did find the sweet spot of Ascot as all of the drilling went to finding the bridge between Racecourse and Ascot - never did understand that ploy....
On the point of the price of copper per ton, does anybody know if the mining industy uses:
US ton = 2000 lbs
Long ton (British) = 2240 lbs
Metric ton = 2204 lbs
I image it's the uS ton but would like confirmation - thanks.
Yes Jay,
But I have averaged down. Hoping not to be a mug twice!
If things continue I may actually end up above water but probably not with inflation.
Guess I'm just hoping to get some of the Arian funds back even if I don't break even.
Kalan,
Was not suggesting skulldugery.
The spread, at 1.786%, being small also offers itself to buys and sells becoming confused.
Just bought a top up and it shows as a sell. Suspect a lot of alleged sells this morning are actually buys.
Howezap, on the subject of BR, I do believe that at some point this project will come to market. The dream scenario would be for the African projects to be fruitful and allow cash to be available to take BR over the line. Maybe prove Ascot up as, if memory serves me correctly, it was effectively ignored from the final external assessment due to lack of data. Even some basic exploration of the feature west of Ascot in the hope of identifying it as a porphyry even if no resources can be reliably assigned to it. All in an environment of 15K copper 😁.
Hi howezap, my investing stategy is currently based around the Zambia story and the copper appreciation theory. If wrong, I'll lose a lot of money but I can see the sense for the need for copper and the mining industry has been in the doldrums for too long. I have a 'green' disposition myself and maybe the mining industry is considered 'dirty' but without it the transition to green energy it is not going to happen. Zambia, both in theory and in drilling results obtained by numerous companies so far seems to be the place to look for copper so I feel confident my strategy is essentially correct, it's just a matter of how long do we need to wait?
Currently I see low prices as an opportunity to hoard cheap shares. GLA
Folderboy: it's FOMO. Fear of missing out.
There are many that have openly said that they were looking for the next spike to get out. Seems odd when looking at the short-ish term prospects. This will trend up when new investors get in at the current prices.
News: it often seems the way that small companies are not rated at the level that sh believe they should be. Almost always seems the way. But I always think that these are the company's that value seekers should be searching out. These are the companies that go hidden because others have not heard about them. Even companies that have money 'incoming' such as Xtract suffer in the same way. Some say it's the CB effect but that seems to be due to the disappointement of the Bushranger project. Fact is, if one of the companies in NW Zambia hit it big, especially if it's a CB company them everybody will move into all of the companies camped out in this corner of Africa and your foresight will be repaid. Don't complain, load up if you believe that the usual obstacles can be hurdled. DYOR (not an issue in your case - lol)
Yes News: I can't fault you on using references. It just seems rather long winded and I may be wrong but there appears to be a certain amount of repetativeness. Having said that I am more than happy for you to continue in your own particular style and will read your missives as they appear. Thanks.
