It's strange! I've been monitoring the rain in Zambia via the BBC weather page for a while now and it seems the rain is falling but your link is not reflecting what the BBC are reporting. Maybe there's a lag due to the parched ground soaking up the moisture.

Max: Most inflation was created by an injection of money into the economy by Trump during the pandemic (remember all those free checks with Trumps signature on them). Biden also added money to the economy (far less than Trump) to avoid a 'hard landing'. Something he achieved despite it being considered almost impossible.

Just for the record, Repubilcans have a worse record when it comes to spending government money, inflation and the stock market tends to do better under Democrats. Red states have higher unemployment, lower accademic standards and higher crime.

If Trump sticks to his word then his policies will increase inflation. The question is: how will he blame Democrats for that. Saving grace is that Trump rarely keeps his promises.

Max: America is already drilling more oil than it has ever done before so difficult to imaging it can increase further and as for growth, America led the world out of the pandemic with an economy that any other western country would kill for. Smiller, your points are valid but I think there's been an over reaction because the RNS was not the fabled Han*ock deal they were hoping for.

Maybe its a plan to prove up the silver assets and sell it on to support the Iron side of the company?

Just to labour the point:

I.e, past tense. This data already exists.

I'm reading the messages this morning and I get the distinct impression that shareholders believe that there will be a huge dilutive increase in shares to finance 100 drill holes. That is not what the RNS says. Unless I've got hold of the wrong end of the stick my interpretation of the RNS is that around 100 holes of data have been discovered that is being reinterpreted presumably by a small team of geos who will also presumably be plugging this data into a geo model. Now, yes, there may be an issue of shares to keep the lights on but the cost of employing a team of geos is not that great, especially as these guys are likely already on the payroll.

If I'm wrong then please feel free to tell me so. I'll wait.....

Max, difficult to see how Trump is going 'drill baby drill' when America is producing more fossil fuels than any time in its history and I belive more than Saudi Arabia at any time in its history. If he manages it then the price will crash and a lot of fracking rigs will be uneconomical. But then Trump doesn't really understand economics.

Great find Ana but why couldn't we have been given some of that information in the RNS?

However, if things do not go well for this company (Chilibwe) the shares could potentially be worthless.....

In the first quote that I lised the Chilibwe company is reputed to be worth $ 30M.

It does all sound a bit murky but I guess XTR have nothing to lose. I did however find this which is concerning although a few years old (2021).

AN alleged mastermind of the illegal gold mining in Mwinilunga has been arrested, bringing to 22 the number of suspects in police custody.

The suspect who has been identified as Lukonde Makungu, a director of Chilibwe Mining Limited was arrested on Wednesday in Solwezi.

The suspects from the mining firm were alleged to have been undertaking illegal gold mining on a mine tenement belonging to Philton Investment Limited near Kasenseli without authority.

According to North-Western Province Commissioner of Police Joe Njase, the suspect has been slapped with five counts which include criminal trespass, forgery and uttering false documents.

Other charges are undertaking a project without written approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment and illegal mining and exploration which is contrary to section 12 (2) of the Mines and Minerals Act number 11 of 2015.

“Mr Makungu will now be taken to Mwinilunga where he will be formally jointly charged for the subject offences with the other 21 suspects,” Mr Njase said.

He said the suspect was being held at Solwezi Central Police Station.

The RNS does not give any background concerning what Chiliwebe does or its prospects but I did find this info:

Mufulira District convened a special District Development Coordinating Committee Meeting today, 17th September 2024, to deliberate on the Environmental Impact Assessment of Chilibwe Mining Limited, a project valued at USD 30 million.

Situated along the Mufulira-Ndola Road, the mine aims to produce 2,000 tonnes of copper and cobalt monthly.

The EIA seeks to evaluate the mining operations' impact on flora and fauna, land use and tenure, landscape, built environment, archaeological sites, and socio-economic and cultural factors.

I'm assuming the date refers to this year.

And my buy is, as so often happens, registered as a sell @ 4.519p
