Levi, you said:
"The PR from his companies is minimal and when he does make a statement he rarely backs it up.
Too many PIs have been burnt so why would people be chasing this or any other of his companies that are all mired in glacial progress."
I think it's only fair to follow up those comments with the other side of the arguement.
I think CB's main failing is he's too passionate and enthusiastic" You are clearly referring to Bushranger in your complaints. It's a huge system of at least 2, probably 3 and possibly more porphyries in a regional system in NSW. Yes, CB did pump that discovery but ultimately the grades were sub-optimal leaving it currenlty on the back burner waiting for copper prices to improve. However, to argue that CB's PR is poor seems strange when at one point XTR shareholders were receiving RNSs at the rate of one evry few days while the early drilling was taking place. This was backed up by mid-week and Sunday 'roasts'. Your second complaint was that progress is glacial. That certainly was not the case with Bushranger where, once funds were raised, 2 drills explored the system at a relative break-neck speed.
I know a lot of people feel like they got burnt over Bushranger and blame CB for this due to his enthusiasm but any investor looking at the drill results had to know that the system was marginal. It was big (currently 1.3M T of Cu) but the grades let it down. With Cu prices above $10k/T interest could be re-ignited.
The one fair complaint against CB is that his interests are spread over too many companies and when prospects decline for any one of those companies, his enthusiasm also falls for the associated projects.
Ultimately this is the AIM market. One must expect there to be a lot of disappointement along the way. Don't believe all the hype but invest in value and in the long term one should end up ahead of the game.
