Milario - " This time yeaterday it was down at 1.45 and 24hrs later its back up at 1.61 on the back of what!?!? "
Its got to be Zeus blowing away some of the irrationality . Their measured discussion and thoughts about future EPL and and a Labour government would have been helpful.
Disagree with you Buchanan 101 about the current Tory Party - the political beliefs of at least 1/3 of Tory MPs are to the left of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. At least 2/3 of current Tory MPs would happily serve under Blair or Gordon Brown.
The number of Tory MPs that hold what might be called ' traditional Tory political convictions' is low, maybe 15% of them. The idea the Party is turning right is for the birds - Tory voters know that and are deserting.
The idea the Tory Party
Re - DonkeyOatey - as regards Labour and things getting worse - I tend to agree with Nigel Farage when he says - ' How much worse can it get' ? '
Tories worst actions ( where to start ?) - making a Labour government certain has got to be included.
I resigned from Tory Party some months back and am not a member of any Party now
I think the Conservatives deserve permanent decimation and to be replaced by Reform as an authentic Centre-Right Party.
MPO818 - " - post the election Labour will cheerfully enhance these benefits, it is in their DNA."
So would the Tories who have reigned over this state of affairs, not to mention the general disastrous state of the Country.
There is a statistical definition of 'Poverty' used by UK government that compares a poorer group relative to the
standard of life' achieved by someone on average income.
That means that it is almost impossible to eradicate 'Poverty'.
Its a bit like saying everyone should have an income above the average.
Did the SP not drop in the run up to previous milestones success announcement or am I imagining it ?
If they did, then its not beyond the realms of possibility that professionals are selling to depress the SP and get small holders to lose heart and get out while the pros pick up still very promising shares at knock down prices.
Alsoppc - thank you for that link - what has happened here ? - and who was JOG Laren ?
Re:alsoppc - "Is it not just more simply Neo I assume won't be paying a dividend to Buchan shareholdeds from day 1 of oil coming up so it's still minimum 2, maybe 2.5 years, until Jog start to receive a proper revenue stream "
I need some education here Alsoppc - Wont JOG get 20% of the actual revenue from Day 1 to distribute or not how it pleases - what has that to do with whether NEO chooses to pay a dividend >
Same article on Bloomberg is not behind a pay wall.
I can't think of a reason ( nor is there any suggestion) why NEO would want to pull out of the JOG deal just because NEO's current owners might want to sell them - the whole JOG/NEO/Serica enterprise still makes very good business sense.
From Bllomberg: " Norwegian private equity firm HitecVision is weighing options for UK oil and gas producer NEO Energy, including a potential sale, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
HitecVision is working with advisers as it studies strategic alternatives for NEO Energy, which could also include merging it with another operator, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information is private.
HitecVision declined to comment. NEO Energy didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment."
MAYBE thats - merge with JOG !!!
I'm happy with your 17 quid estimate Einbert - no need to convince me - I'm happy to trust your calculations
Disappointing MPO818 but this has been the pattern after every 'milestone' so far, but the past is no indicator to the future in a situation like JOG.
And its not only been pundits who have said £6/7 is a fair value SP, but more significantly the JOG CEO has publicly said it.
So Tories to extend Windfall Tax to 2029. But an incoming Labour gov already committed to maintaining that tax for full parliamentary term i.e.2029 - announced a couple of weeks back - so that aspect already reflected in SP
@DO - " If his ( Benitz) only role, post farm outs, is to be the public face of JOG trying to sell it as an investment to investment houses, then frankly he needs a crash course in how to give a presentation "
I cannot agree the SP is held back by Benitz alleged lack of presentational skills.
Its the numbers and other factors ( to be identified ) that count, and Benitz presented the numbers as well as is necessary.
There can now be no would be big investors not aware of the JOG case and the potential.
So factors beyond Benitz control and responsibilities are coming into play.
But the closer JOG gets to first oil the more these other considerations will fade in their effect on the SP
But having said at the recent presentation that the SP was 3 times undervalued Benitz and the Board would be bound to recommend refusal on all low offers.
In fact, based on what he said it would surely be hard for him to recommend any offer under £6-
DO - re " I think it's more a question of what activity is to be undertaken once the Serica farm out is completed and the remaining paperwork is completed (which I highly doubt is CEO activity.) With farmouts and FDP completed, what demanding work do you anticipate needs doing by the JOG team? "
That question requires/deserves a specific answer.
My impression was that Neo would be doing everything once final go-ahead is achieved
Interesting that men ' of a certain age' appear the majority of the audience present - if the baldness quotient is factored in.
Thanks for that Troajan.
Re: Tory failure to tackle neo- Marxism.
Another quote from TCW that i mentioned below that puts it so well :-
" The failure of the Conservatives to adhere to the political philosophy so superbly articulated by Lord Frost is not new. Embrace of the new authoritarianism and shift leftwards is their hallmark. Mimicking Labour, however, is no longer an election-winning strategy. Appeasement has not won respect nor will it diminish public hostility to a party that has no chance of taking power until it sees the error of its ways. "
We need a new Centre-Right Party .
"
Re Millario - " Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves studied at New College, Oxford ..... I would wager she knows her stuff"
House of C stuffed with Oxbridge graduates as has Cabinets and mediocrity is all that has engaged - there's nothing about Reeves that gives confidence otherwise - she seems doctrinaire and determined to wreck the UK oil industry.
Labour love high spending but wont have the money ( borrowed money) to be able to do it - so I wouldn't be surprised half way thru their term Reeves introduces a Wealth Tax - starting with £2M house, but the figure will quickly come down as they need more.
Re Millario - ( Of the Conservative Party) - " The blind faith in them is really bizarre to me. ".
I agree - and it has made them complacent and indifferent to public opinion, not to mention mediocre over a wide field of governance.
